What to tell work?

I'm still at the point where my official diagnosis is clinically isolated syndrome, but I'm seeing my new neurologist this week and I'll be pushing hard for him to figure out what's wrong with me. In the meantime, I've quickly deteriorated in the last three weeks since I started a new job. I went from having issues with my left leg that were somewhat manageable to now where I can just barely climb into the ...

So, what is the most affordable treatment for MS?

Hey all, recently made a longer post about this in the introductions thread, but to make a long story short, my wife has been suddenly been diagnosed with MS. A week ago life was normal, now every waking moment is disease, disease, disease.

Sorry, going to keep this brief. Probably shouldn't do too much typing while in such a terrible mood. You've all no doubt got more than enough worries of your on and I ...

Frustration with walking

I'm a nurse, so I've always had a job that requires me to be on my feet. About 9-10 months ago, I noticed that when I got tired of walking, my left leg and foot started bothering me. My foot gets so bad that I can't physically move my ankle at all to pick up my foot. As I swing my leg around, I'm basically just slapping my foot on the ground, if I haven't ...

How do you change careers and keep health insurance?

I have been living with MS for 8+ years. For the most part, things have been fine until recently. I am severely depressed and stressed because I feel stuck. I want out of retail and onto a more meaningful career. I feel like the only way I can afford to live with MS is by working for a major corporation so that I have health insurance. I would love to have the freedom of working ...

Has anyone been on disability and tried to return to work?

In 2009 I went on disability because I had a serious MS relapse. I am now feeling like I want to try to see if I can ease back into the work force on a part-time basis. I have discussed this with my neurologist & he agrees I should take baby steps. I have reviewed the information regarding the Ticket to Work program through social security; however, I am also interested in the experiences ...

Disability claims

Hello all,

I am a 38 year old special education teacher, and I was dianosed with MS over 3 years ago. I have been working through dizziness, pain, and incredible fatigue since then. My job is very physical, and stressful. I have fallen at work a few times since school began, and I am considering applying for disability. Has anyone had any success in applying through either social security or their pension fund? Thanks for ...

Bladder issues?

Hi all,
I'm a little concerned. I have never had bladder issues (except when I was pregnant of course). But last night, while I was sleeping, I peed the bed. I'm 23, how embarrassing. The really concerning thing is when I realised it and stood up to change, it was still coming out, there was nothing I could do to stop it. Has anyone else had this happen? Is this an MS thing? I have ...
