 Post subject: The Body Toxic
PostPosted: Mon Jun 01, 2009 2:05 am
I have just finished reading The Body Toxic by Nena Baker and would like to recommend it to others. While the book doesn’t have anything to do with MS, I feel that the healthier we can live our lives, the better off we will likely be in the long run. The book discusses toxic chemicals that we are commonly exposed to in our everyday lives. These include atrazine (a commonly used agriculture herbicide and pesticide), ...

Post subject: Grossology by Sylvia Branzei

This proves that I will read anything...because I believe that we might learn an important fact anywhere.

Our local museum had an exhibit, "Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body," this summer. It was designed for kids aged 6 to 14 and based on Sylvia Branzei's books.

Having read Twisted Helix's first post and thread which mentioned snot, I decided to post this because I think mucus (chronic sinusitis) plays a role in my ...

She wants some interesting books to learn more about her MS. Maybe something written by a teen or written specifically for teens. She was not interested in Nancy Davis or Teri Garr books that I got. Anyone know any others?

The Lyme Disease Solution
By Kenneth B. Singleton M.D., M.P.H.

I am about half way through this book, because I am in an "endemic" area for Lyme Disease at the moment.....but apparently, it's not just in the New England area. And the bacteria was first discovered in 1883 in Germany.....hmmmmmm. I have learned a lot from this book and I think the author's treatment for Lyme's could be useful for any sick person.....he emphasizes strengthening ...

PostPosted: Tue Jul 22, 2008 4:03 am
Does anyone have books that you re-read over and over again? I do - I love new books but I have a few that I will re-visit at least once a year usually. Some of them are kids books some not but they just do something for me!

I have just picked up 'Goodnight Mr Tom' My Michelle Magorian. It is a kids book set during the evacuations of WWII but I would thorough;y recommend ...

I just finished that book, written by Randy Pausch. He is a 40some years old man, diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and only a few months to live.
His words have really struck me in many ways.
He is a very wise professor. He talks about the important things in life, what they should be, what do you do and concentrate on when you only have a few months to go in your life.
Many things ...
