Background: In the pediatric Multiple Sclerosis (MS) population large and controlled studies on safety and efficacy of Natalizumab have not yet been performed. In literature there have been no cases of Natalizumab-related Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML) reported in paediatric population with MS.

I have has MS 10 years and reasonablly unaffected. 6 months ago I had a stressful situation at work that left me pretty badly disabled

Got steroids but to no effect. MRI says I am very active

So started Ty 2 months ago and still can hardle walk and have no energy. Should I stay on it and wait it out? If so how long has it taken others to feel even the smallest positive ...

In patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS), interrupting treatment with natalizumab (Tysabri, Biogen) often leads to relapse, a new study shows.

The findings "confirm a high rate of recurrence" of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-defined and clinical MS disease activity starting at approximately week 12, during a 24-week interruption of natalizumab therapy, a study team notes.

Objective: To report on a case of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) after natalizumab (NTZ) treatment discontinuation.

Biogen Idec and Elan Corporation, plc announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has extended the initial PDUFA date for its review of the supplemental Biologics License Application (sBLA) for Tysabri(R) (natalizumab).

MS patients on Tysabri: 170 PML cases, 33 deaths already (as of 4-th of October 2011).
"...as of the end of September 2011 approximately 63,500 patients were on commercial and clinical TYSABRI therapy worldwide. And that cumulatively approximately 92,200 patients have ever been treated with TYSABRI in the post-marketing setting," said Biogen Idec.

Patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) who took the new generation anti-inflammatory medication natalizumab for two years had a lower risk of experiencing relapses and progression of their disability, according to a new study.

According to information released by Biogen Idec, as of September 1, 2011 there have been 159 confirmed cases of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML, a viral infection of the brain that usually leads to death or severe disability) among people who have used Tysabri® (natalizumab, Biogen Idec and Elan Pharmaceuticals) after it became available for prescription in July 2006.
