Newport News, VA - Neuro recommendation
Any good Neurologist (MS Specialist) in that area that anyone can recommend? Preferably one that listens and knows what the hell he's doing. =) It's a possibility that our next duty station will be there and we sort of have the upper hand right now with where the Army where put us. If there aren't a...

Oral Steroids for Vision Issues
I have learned that it's not a good idea to use oral steroids for vision issues and that IV is preferred. I cannot remember the reason for this. LOL! Can some please refresh my memory?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Fibromyalgia (FMS) and Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS)
I'm curious about the number of people who have MS, FMS, and RLS. Anyone have the three? I've heard FMS and RLS like to strike together, I'm wondering how true that is among MS patients. I ask because I am starting to wonder if my pain may be related to one of the two or possibly both. I definitely ...

Magnesium "Rules"
I hope I'm not repeating a question. I saw an earlier post regarding magnesium but this is a bit different. I'm not a big meds person but I have recently started taking Neurontin for pain. It's a 15-day gradual increase ending at 600mg 3x a day, I'm currently on day 9. I have been doing some reading...

Hi Greg, Welcome to the board although I'm sorry your journey has brought you here. I can't really say for sure if what you're experiencing is MS as I am no doctor and have limited experience with MS myself. I also have ringing in my ears and I have been told that in my case, it's not related to MS....

I was on Copaxone for 8 months until my diagnosis changed to NMO. NMO is not treated the same way MS is thus the reason I stopped Copaxone. Now my neuro is thinking it's possible MS again. Personally, I would not start the meds again if I got (another) positive MS diagnosis. I'm not convinced that t...

I clicked on this thinking you were talking about the astrological sign Leo. I'm a Leo but not a LEO. But since I'm here, I surely do wish you the best. Is taking a desk job an option? Dispatching? I know it's not the same and probably won't pay as much but it's something. And it'll definitely give ...

Good News
Saw my neuro yesterday and here's where we're at. (No Tumor) :) - He doesn't think it's NMO (Devic's). - I have two O-bands in my spinal fluid which makes him lean towards MS but he doesn't want to put that on me just yet. (Even though I've already been diagnosed with it once.) - Syrinx is stable b...

No kidding bender. I know I have a Syrinx and either NMO or MS. My current neuro is questioning my NMO dignosis so we'll see. I always prepare for the worst case scenario but hope for the best. Worst case scenario -NMO, Syrinx, Brain Tumor. Right now I think my best case scenario is Syrinx and MS. T...

You can join a MS Walk in 2011, here's the link www.walkMSsocal.org. You can also become a fan of the National MS Society on FB. I know there's a support group here in Southern Cali that meets every now and then, I think they even meet in Riverside. You'll find people on that page involved in those ...
