The journal part of the old site was only available for a short time after the new forum software was installed in Sept. At that time, it was possible to read journals, but not add more entries. A few weeks after the new forum software was active, the old part of the site was hacked. The old software was from 2007 and had been abandoned by the developer at about the same time. It also had a reputation for having messy code and was prone to breaking (as well as being hacked). All traces of the old site were removed for security and dependability reasons. Although a few members kept real journals, many of the journal entries were actually spam postings. Most member activity occurred in the forums and the front page news items anyway. Thankfully, we have Squiffy to bring us updated news articles.
