Update on Stem Cell Transplant (Canada)

Post by emcguey »

Just thought we would give a bit of an update for those who are interested in getting a stem cell transplant. My husband had his transplant on December 13. He was hospitalized for about two weeks, but is now recovering extremely well. He is just over 50 days post-transplant and is working out on a daily basis to try and get his strength back. While it is still too early to see if he will have any improvement in his symptoms (we would be happy with just a halt in progression), we are planning on blogging about it for the next year (my-end-to-ms.blogspot.com). We would also like to thank all of the people on this forum who have sent us emails of support. This is such a great community!

Thanks very much for the update, Erin. Reading your blog I'm happy to see Chris has so far come through the treatment with improving health (hes looking quite good) and the likelyhood that not only his MS disease has been stopped, but is also likely to show symptomatic improvement over time. What a great medical gift it is! I'm looking forward to future updates.
