After I had loaded my purchases into my car, someone backed into to the handi parking spot opposite the one I was in.
I watched in fascination as she put down the rear window of her small hatchback. She reached in and pulled out a base. Next she reached back in and pulled out an obviously lightweight seat. Then, to my amazement, she fitted the projection at the bottom of the seat into the center of the base, and rolled to the small ramp that connected the lot to the walk.
I could hardly believe it. A power wheel chair that can fit in a small vehicle.

I don't know what it is but if you find out I'd be really interested in it. I'll go to google and look it up. See if I get any hits.

It weighs only 35 pounds and can fold up to fit into the overhead compartment of a plane. I looked it up on the site: http://www.travelscoot.com/ There's a video that shows how easy it is to lift, unload, assemble, and maneuver, making it a great option for those of us who can still walk, but have increasingly limited mobility. I'm seriously considering one if my recent hospital visit and followups don't leave me broke!

thanks for your replies. i have tried google, but haven't narrowed my parameters enough to locate this chair (it is a chair, not a scooter).
i only have dial-up, so i cannot get through enough pages of google fast enough to see every link.
there is absolutely nothing on this chair to fold! just a base and a seat. so simple.

but, still not it. it had a square, metal base with 4 small wheels underneath. the seat bottom fit into a space in the center of the base. the seat had a joystick-type control.
it appeared very light in weight. it seemed like no particular difficulty for her to lift the base and put it on the ground.
i know that almost anything appears easy if you are not the one doing the work!
i'll just have to keep looking. thank you for trying to help.
