A pioneering new stem cell treatment is allowing people with multiple sclerosis to walk, run and even dance again, in results branded ‘miraculous’ by doctors.
Patients who have been wheelchair-bound for 10 years have regained the use of their legs in the groundbreaking therapy, while others who were blind can now see again.

I stumbled across this study as-well, but was thrown by the references to the original article stating it all occurred at London
while the above article states:Original Article wrote:The two dozen patients who are taking part in the trials at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield and Kings College Hospital, London, have effectively had their immune systems ‘rebooted’.
Are you certain that they are one and the same?Referenced Study wrote:DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS:
Case series of patients with relapsing-remitting MS (n = 123) or secondary-progressive MS (n = 28) (mean age, 36 years; range, 18-60 years; 85 women) treated at a single US institution between 2003 and 2014 and followed up for 5 years. Final follow-up was completed in June 2014.

I think they are. I went by the author and journal mentioned. Basil Sharrack is listed by Pubmed as being from the Sheffield Teaching Hospital. There were 141 patients involved in the study. It's possible that 24 of them were treated in the US and then had follow-up in London.CureOrBust wrote:Are you certain that they are one and the same?
