flaxseed..ever noticed a side effect?
flaxseed..ever noticed a side effect?
Was having ground flaxseed (~15g) and after a month started developing twitch in my eyes. Thought it to be some form of ms exacerbation but then thought again of what changes I had made in diet and if at all that could be causing the twitch. Read that dryness causes eye twitch and flaxseed is responsible for some amount of dryness in the body. Stopped flaxseed and in 2-3 days the twitch was gone completely. Has anyone ever experienced this or any other side effect while taking flaxseed?. I wish to start taking it again but am a bit concerned about the amount to be taken given the fact that I stay in a country where temperature these days is touching 45 degrees.

Ground flaxseed is very high in fiber. It tends to absorb water like a sponge. It may be the case that you may have become slightly dehydrated. I have never really experienced any side effects from flaxseed other than effects on my stomach. I found that mixing it with some plain yogurt seems to help make it easier to digest.

Hi meet,
I was wondering why you would feel terrible after drinking water, and the only thing I could think of was maybe your're drinking it too fast (like when you want to get something over with quickly). I get a stomach ache when I do that. Also, uptake in water is likely to start flushing toxins out of your body, this might make you feel terrible at first, but eventually you will crave water in order to feel good!
But there is no such thing as the body not needing water. It is a fact that the body needs water, however much a person may 'feel' they do not need it.
So, I would like to suggest, (this was posted somewhere else but I can't remember where) to have a bottle of water that you make taste good to you, either by squeezing lemon in it or putting crushed berries? or something to make it like a drink and drink it slowly throughout the day.
That's what I do, but I try to drink most of my water intake in the morning because that's when a person is most dehydrated.
Well, hope this is helpful in some way....good luck, oh, and by the way, my sister never drank much water, then started doing so and not only did she lose weight (which was not the reason she started to uptake her amount) but she said she started to see remarkable differences in her skin, shinier, less breakouts etc.

Hi
You might feel bloated because the cells need the fluid, my naturapath said to drink 2 litres a day. Give it a couple of weeks at a minimum and be prepared for going to the bathroom a whole lot.
My method is to drink at least one litre before noon and the other litre gets spread out over the rest of the day. This seems to work for me.
I found that I am losing weight and noticing when I haven't been drinking enough water. I can tell that I am dehydrated, this was a major life style change for me but a good one.

Temperature
Something to consider is the temperature of the water you drink, Ghandi said you should drink your food and chew your drink. Anything you place in your stomach you then have to use your energy to heat it up to body temperature to process.
Also drink for the season, warming in Winter and Cooling in summer. Phillip Day supports drinking of water with Himalayan salt, have a read.
