Gluten sensitivity

Post by NHE »

The People's Pharmacy has recently interviewed Dr. Alessio Fasano, director of the Center for Celiac Research and division chief of the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children, discussing celiac disease and gluten sensitivity. He states that gluten is a protein which we cannot completely digest and that it, for those who are sensitive to it, can cause inflammation anywhere in the body including the brain mimicking Multiple Sclerosis.

For those that have been tested and found to be gluten sensitive, has changing your diet to avoid gluten altered (or hopefully improved) your MS symptoms?
