Re: Scientists 'partially reverse' MS symptoms using stem ce
This statement was good in that they are looking down the path of a drug instead of injecting stem cells.“Rather than having to engraft stem cells into a patient, which can be challenging from a medical standpoint, we might be able to develop a drug that can be used to deliver the therapy much more easily,” said Prof Lane.
Also raised an eyebrow that they used human cells in mice and got benefits. Could it also work the other way thenTreatment with human stem cells ... The scientists transplanted human neural stem cells into the animals expecting them to be rejected and provide no benefit ....
Isn't "mouse MS" self limiting by itself?Six months later, they showed no sign of relapsing.
and I won't be holding my breath."We want to try to move as quickly and carefully as possible" ... "This result opens up a whole new area of research for us to figure out why it worked"
