It's about time, Dr. Sclafani

Post by bestadmom »

It’s been more than one year since I broke the CCSVI story to Dr. Sclafani and it’s our one year anniversary of our first face to face meeting – 52 weeks next Tuesday when Dr. Sclafani and his team agreed to treat me.

I hit pay dirt when Dr. Sclafani responded to my email in October 2009. It’s been a year of excitement, opportunity, steep learning curves, breathtaking outcomes, challenges, and disappointments but, you now know his dedication to you and me is stronger than ever. We’ve learned that his commitment to the MS community is unwavering.

Today, he announced that he will resume CCSVI treatments at American Access Care LLC. At a time in his life when he could retire, his loyalty to us will shape the next phase of his career.

Beginning in January, Dr. Sclafani will treat patients with CCSVI as he develops a standardized comprehensive diagnostic, treatment and aftercare network for American Access Care at their 30+ freestanding interventional radiology treatment centers in 12 states, so your care can be close to home. Dr. Sclafani will continue to practice in New York City.

If you are on Dr. Sclafani’s list from way back when, you will still get to work with the amazing Holly Barr, who started her tenure with AAC in October. Email ccsviliberation@gmail.com if you seek treatment with Dr. Sclafani. To get on the AAC general diagnostic and treatment list, contact Holly at CCSVI@AAC-llc.com.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Michelle, the crazy lady with MS who found the lunatic fringe from Brooklyn

"Way back when" - has it been that long?

Such great news, Michelle. :)

The website does not give locations. Does anyone know what states are involved?

try here and click facilities in the middle of the page, not "Our facilities" on the left which is a dead end:
http://www.americanaccesscare.com/brooklyn.html

But as Dr. Sclafani just said, not all of them are developed.

Cece, enjoy this day with your "other" family.

Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends. We in Canada had our Thanksgiving last month, but with no good news on the CCSVI horizon here to give thanks for. Hopefully, we will in the future (Well, I can always dream!)

Thanks, Michelle, but you're the Amazing "Crazy Lady" Michelle who started all this and may very well, before all this is through, have changed hundreds of thousands of lives either directly or indirectly. All hats off to the Amazing Michelle and the Amazing Dr. Sclafani!!!

That said I just wanted to let everyone know on an administrative level that though I must soon start cooking for dinner (Happy Thanksgiving everyone!) I am now preparing a new waiting list application I will be sending out to everyone who previously expressed interest in getting treated by Dr. Sclafani. I need current, and slightly different, information at this point and this is the most efficient way to gather it. When you receive my email, please respond immediately if you're still interested in being treated by Dr. Sclafani. If you don't receive a new application from me by the end of next week, please email me at CCSVI@aac-llc.com with "Send New Application" in your email's subject line and nothing in the message itself, please. (I'll be swamped!)

I will assume that you're interested in treatment from Dr. Sclafani since your initial inquiry was about his waiting list, so will have already filled in the part of the application form that indicates this. However as both Michelle and Dr. Sclafani have indicated both Dr. Sclafani and I are now working for American Access Care, LLC and at least in the future will be able to provide other treatment options nationwide. If, for instance, mobility issues are such that you might prefer to wait until an American Access Care Center much closer to where you live can provide you with treatment, feel free to change my entry to indicate this.

To perhaps reiterate the only email address you should currently be using to contact me specifically is CCSVI@aac-llc.com, but you can also PM me here.

I am so very, very happy to be able to offer you assistance, all thanks to Dr. Sclafani and Michelle. It is indeed a day for Thanksgiving!

I feel so proud and lucky to be among Michelle's friends. Her tireless work on our behalf is nothing short of stunning.

Thank you Michelle for sharing your discovery of Dr. S with the rest of us. You are a force to be reckoned with!

Thank you, too, Dr. S. for your willingness to jump into these murky waters with a bunch of uber-motivated, intelligent, slightly nutty MSers. We are so glad to have you on our team!

Happy Turkey Day!
