Re: please help

As you can tell from the follow up posts, you are not alone. I have been on Avonex for over 10 years and the first few months were brutal. I can remember the nurse first coming over to show me how to inject. First we did it in an orange - wow that was easy :) - then she said, OK now your leg. The pa...

Re: Bloodwork - Zinc & Magnesium

Thanks for the quick reply! I am on a (mostly) paleo diet. I completely avoid gluten and try to eat as many unprocessed, natural foods as possible. I try to minimize sugar and dairy. I do a lot of shopping at Trader Joe's and try to stay with grass fed beef, wild fish, and organic products. Other th...

Bloodwork - Zinc & Magnesium

Just got some blood work done to check my hormone levels and I asked to also include Zinc and Magnesium (based on many posts here). Here are the results; I would love to hear any feedback (I'm looking at you Jimmylegs :-D). BTW, I am a 40 year old male. Magnesium - 2.0 MG/DL Zinc - 76 MCG/DL Hormona...

Re: Redcord Physical Therapy

Haven't posted on this in a while, so I thought I would give a quick update. I am continuing with redcord exercises and my nuero recently said that he is noticing an improvement with my gait. Because this improvement is gradual, I had not noticed it. He said that I used to kick out my right foot (to...

Re: Can I stop taking Avonex injections?

Just a quick note - if you decide to stay on Avonex, get the Avonex Pen. It makes injections MUCH easier and pretty much eliminates the need to poke more than once. I would agree that diet and exercise are very important. There are various diets that you can try but at a minimum, eliminate junk food...

Re: Redcord Physical Therapy

Not sure if there is any interest, but I'll use this thread to occasionally track my activity/progress. I am still doing red cord (combined with Pilates) and seeing steady improvement - mostly related to my balance and gait issues. I try to do the therapy once a week and also strive for three additi...

Redcord Physical Therapy

Does anyone have any knowledge of or experience with this? It is touted to be a Norwegian system of ropes, slings and loops that delivers a unique neuromuscular workout I have been experiencing increased fatigue and issues walking over the past several months and was introduced to RedCord by my ther...

Re: Relapse - what to do?

To follow on Mark's comments, as far as I have researched, steroids have no long term benefit. Taking them may speed "recovery" from a relapse, but they will not impact the long term effect. The ultimate impact of the relapse will be the same regardless of whether or not steroids are taken...

Re: New Member looking for natural care advice

Speaking only of needles (I know there will be some push back on taking the ABC drugs here), I have been taking Avonex for about 8 years. The first few injections were very difficult for me, but I got through them. I pretty much dreaded giving my weekly injection for years (and even had to have a fe...

Re: Another relapse

Thanks for the response lynda. I have seen your suggestions in the past and I am seriously thinking it is time for me to test my insulin levels as well as food allergies.
