Any insight/guidance?

Hello everyone,

My main symptoms starteed about 8 weeks ago. My fingers became stiff then my arms started getting weak. My left hand has now started shaking when I reach for or carry things. All of my limbs "fall asleep"/tingle very frequently and easily. I am easily fatigued and have had trouble swallowing for about 1.5 yrs, but it seems to be worsening lately. I have experienced some blurry vision.

I am seeing an internist since my blood work came back fine from my GP. He mention MS as something to be aware of given I live in Northern Canada, am Female and 30 yrs old.

I'm wondering if any of this sounds MS related or if you have any ideas of other conditions/symptoms I should look into.

Thank-you so much

hi and welcome :)

personally i always suggest ruling out any of the nutrition issues that are typical for ms patients but under-evaluated/treated in conventional medical care. applicable regardless of whether you already have ms, or hope to prevent it.

so that said, do you happen to have your own copy of the bloodwork that has been done?
also, would there be any info you feel comfortable sharing about diet, lifestyle, activity level in general, that might be relevant in terms of chronic disease risk or prevention?

Hi, thx for the reply!

I dont have a copy of the lab results. As for diet and life style... I eat a lot of healthy foods. I feel like my diet is balanced and overall nutritous enough. I do enjoy treats and salty snacks but usually only 1-2 times a week. I dont feel like i have a poor diet. I have two young children so I'm running after them and try to have a walk or two a week. But i don't exert myself physically every day. I could probably use some more activity. my weight is well maintained, I'm slim but healthy. I dont smoke and drink rarely.

hey there, no problem. i would have said and did say my own diet was healthy before life proved me wrong :S

without having test results on hand, you could still potentially do some self assessment - could be worth looking into whether you meet all the targets for daily recommended intakes of essential vitamins and minerals. there are a few 'usual suspects' for canadians, for folks living in developed countries, and for ms patients as well.
