I am really tired of hearing about all the breakthroughs in MS that never come to anything. The URL above is a real story, like that of Dr. Zamboni, about a woman who was ridiculed for 40 years. Like Dr. Paulo Zamboni, she had a real personal connection to MS, which motivated her work.
Now she has found a genetic cause for progressive MS. This news will reverberate throughout the medical and scientific worlds. You heard about it here.

There are some politics here. When I heard this story last night on CBC it had not had the guts taken out of it. Firstly there was no second male professor vetting all the words of this woman. This story has been massively modifieds, and I would dare say suppressed. In the original story, the interview was of a woman named Dessa Sadovnick. She told of how she was ridiculed by other researchers, who would typically ask her "Are you sure you don't mean 'Muscular Dystrophy'?" You will not hear those words on CBC's web site, only the sanitized version.
Now the story has been massaged into what seems to me is a completely different one. I speculate that the powers that be at UBC have intervened to make sure nobody ever hears the original broadcast. Much political weight must have been thrown around to get these changes made before morning. Perhaps our other friends at UBC who have been instrumental in the suppression of CCSVI treatment were also involved here. Some people are not interested in the truth.
