I was very happy until I saw the dollar amount being allocated to this research. Now i am no scientist but what kind of Study will 100,000 Can
per year for a total of two years buy CCSVI.
Does anybody have any experience with research grants, Should I be happy or upset. I was expecting 5 times that amount at least. Am i missing something here.

I have a gut feeling that when grants are issued they form part of the funding. Another words the Society is a piece of the funding pie. I am sure researchers receive funding for the same research from multiple sources. Potential stakeholders.
My question is what or who would be an additional source of funding for CCSVI. Who besides the Society/Us has a reason to prove out Zamboni's research?
100,000 C will get you a cup of coffee and a couple janitors to wipe up the mess when you spill it. The Society needs to rethink there parameters, they will be the Single Source of funding maybe for the first time. What body of qualified researchers would even submit a bid?
I had stated previously. That after CTV W5 aired "The Liberation Treatment" the Society was peppered with "What are you going to do about CCSVI" I and i am sure others in no uncertain terms told the Society to get involved and support CCSVI research or risk a backlash from the very people it is mandated to support.
The Monday following the Society took the "we will conduct a competition"a 360 degree reversal from the Friday before.
We will invite responsible parties to submit bids to conduct CCSVI research & IF the submissions pass mustard with the medical body that does the review, We/Society will write the cheque. My fear, at the time was, damage control to shut down the growing backlash.
Now after reading the parameters of this bidding process and the likely Single Source funds available to conduct them, anybody else sharing my
skeptisism.

One last note the society was very specific about the amount specific to CCSVI research competition. Why the distinction Maximum, when in fact within there own guidlines there are no MAXIMUMS?

Since there are no best practise protocols to review regarding CCSVI Research would it not be resonable to forgo the Grant amounts (within the ccsvi competition guidlines) and qualify it with a "to be determined" after all bids have been reviewed.
Would the limit of 100,000 not pre conclude the quality of research therefor limit the scope.

As the caregiver of over 20 years to my dear wife Laurie (CPMS) my excitement over Dr Zambonis research cannot be understated. Like many others I am very excited about the Societies position regarding research of CCSVI.
However i do have some concerns, could you please review the following thread found on the TIMS website, since I am a 2 finger typer it will save me a lot of time. (thanking you in advance) the thread and my personal posts under (bohemianbill) reflect my thoughts. I have never been involved in a grant process, are my concerns realistic, if in fact the Society is the Single Source of funding (as i suspect) should the grant guidlines not be reviewed? As i suggest should the grant of a maximum of 100,000 not be suspended until you receive the bids (to be determined). Will it not by its definition limit the scope therefor the quality of this most important research?
