Re: Recurrent Uhthoff's: Is there a progressive element?

My uthoffs is similar - it takes a very small increase in temperature to affect my vision. It also causes weakness in my legs. The nitric oxide link sounds interesting. Does anyone know of practical ways to reduce NO?

B vitamins

I've been looking into vitamins etc to make sure I'm not missing anything that could help my MS. This site has been really helpful in my background research. For example, i'm going to balance my D, zinc, mag. I'm also interested in B vits and have a few questions; - there are many B vits - are there...

Re: Using helminths (hookworms) to treat MS and other disord

Yes, me too. My first dose was in spring 2011, and I have increased the numbers since then to around 200.
So far so good

Re: Leaky Gut

Have you looked into bacteriotheraphy/ fecal transplant? This is quite new but the idea is that there is a connection between inflamatory/ immune disesases and guts colonised by 'bad' bacteria. The procedure has been used with success at treating hospital infections such c-diff and also chrons. Some...

Re: A new concept for MS [I think I found it: This Is MS]

Thanks for posting this article. I've read it and am interested in what will happen next. Do you know what the next steps are to translate the proposals into actions? How much influence will it have to get things changed?

Re: A new concept for MS [I think I found it: This Is MS]

Leonard I've followed your thread and agree with your reasoning. Just one genuine question for you: Why do you consider a fecal transplant as a last resort rather than the preferred treatment option, or even as a combined treatment option along with metformin/glimperide ? From what I've read fecal t...

Questions for UK politicians

The UK MS society put this on Twitter a couple of days ago.... just letting you know.. "We'll be interviewing MPs at the 3 main party conferences soon. What would you like to ask? Submit questions to campaigns@mssociety.org.uk" I've suggested they ask what politicians are doing to support ...

Re: Helminths

Its mainly my sensory symptoms that are brought on by the heat - blurry vision, numbness. I believe its called Utthoffs phenomonon, due to incomplete remyelination - the heat somehow inhibits neural conduction. The data is only limited by the relatively low number of subjects. In the Argentinian stu...

Re: Helminths

Its good to hear of someone else interested in helminthic therapy. I always planned to "spread the word" if it showed signs of working. If this keeps up for another couple of years I'll be even more encouraged. Meanwhile 18 months is a good start. It does apparently take the worms a while ...

Re: Helminths

Hello. Yes there is some research and small trials going on at Edinburgh and Nottingham Unis I think. I think they may be using whipworm rather than hookworm, but its the same principal. I have been using hookworm since Spring 2011, increasing the dose gradually, and now host over 100 helminths. Thi...
