Re: MS and coping with heat
Hi, I'm in Melbourne and we are 37 to 40 today depending on where you are. Generally heat doesn't slaughter me but it's uncomfortable for everyone. Two things do help me. If you can get one on those "bullit" wizzers, half fill it with ice and half fill it with watermelon and wizz it up. I...

MS and coping with heat
Hey guys, I was wondering how hard the heat hits you and your MS, and how you manage it? For me, we are having 32 degree days (Australia, yay!) and I have flared up so horribly! Walking has suddenly become an Olympic sport it seems, my memory is worse than usual, I am in considerably more pain...I h...

Agreed, not something I will probably have to worry about for a good few years yet heheoreo wrote:If you're only 19 then we can pretty safely rule out prostate issues - and that's a good thing!

Re: Urination Difficulties & Time
A couple of suggestions. The first requires giving up a little of your 'masculinity'. Don't stand, sit. It is a more relaxed position and if your body is more relaxed, your bladder may be as well. It is easier to be patient when you are sitting than when you are standing. Secondly, don't try to sta...

Re: Urination Difficulties & Time
When my bladder problems started a few years ago, I also had long wait times, but I can't really recall how long that was. Things that helped me was a bit of physical activity involving my legs: a walk, some time on the exercise bike or a short run all seemed to work, especially the last one. I rem...

Re: Urination Difficulties & Time
Today I drank a few glasses of coke and when I went to urinate it took me almost 10min to finally go. I'm sorry to hear about your urination problem, but on a side note, consider that a 12 oz can of Coke has 40 grams of sugar in it. You would be better off drinking water. Sugar is toxic. You might ...

Urination Difficulties & Time
Hey guys, hope everyone here is having a low pain day and not too rough a time <3 I was wanting to ask you all about urination, as I am having some problems and have started a new medication and last time this all happened - it ended with a rather large tube in a rather uncomfortable place! I unders...

Re: Question Regarding Drop Foot
My brother, who had CLL, and a marrow transplant, was on big time opiates for a long time, and then they started giving him methadone. During his recent hospital visit he was obviously addicted. He grew very argumentative when he could not get his next dose of demerol for 6 hours. He eventually was...

Re: Question Regarding Drop Foot
Hi, You are very articulate and I congratulate you for presenting yourself so clearly. Can you go into a bit of detail about the pain? It's such a general word. The very first question hospitals ask is "are you in pain?". If you say yes then they whack you full of something and it becomes...

Re: Question Regarding Drop Foot
Hey Scott, The reason it has only now been given the attention it deserves is because simply, no one believed me. A child saying he has pain, he has muscle weakness, visual issues etc is hard to believe - despite the fact that as a child I was very medically minded due to having to look after myself...

Re: Question Regarding Drop Foot
About two or three years ago I had a set of MRI's, and at the time there was nothing of significance - but at the same time my only real problems were pain and some memory troubles (though the pain was very severe). However, a year or so before my 19th birthday I begun developing problems that were ...

Question Regarding Drop Foot
Hey everyone, Firstly I would like to note that I have only just signed up here as I am currently in the process of perusing the (somewhat scary) possibility that I have MS and I have a few questions I would like answers to, as I do not get to see my neurologist for a good while (going away on a sma...
