Re: Crushing fatigue... help!
Healthy diet as in lots of fresh fruits and veggies, seafood (lots of fish!), occasional hormone/antibiotic free chicken and red meat. Nothing fried, ever. Minimal dairy, minimal fats. Minimal starches, mostly rice and potatoes when I do eat them. Almost never eat refined grains or processed foods. ...

Crushing fatigue... help!
Hi there, It's been a while since I've posted here. I've been struggling with extreme fatigue for a while now. My neuro put me on modafinil, but I did not react well to it at all. It gave me severe headaches, as well as sensitivity to light and inability to focus. Although it did help with the lassi...

Plegridy, anyone?
Has anyone here tried Plegridy? It is a rather new drug on the market, was released just a few months ago. Its a pegylated version of interferon-beta, so that it lasts longer in the body and you have to take it less frequently. I'm considering switching to it from Rebif, which I've been on for almos...

Re: Battling Extreme Fatigue - What Works for You?
Hi guys, just wanted to post a little update for you. So I gave the natural approach a try. This has always been my preference, to try to fix the problem naturally before I have to resort to drugs and chemicals. There results are very unscientific, of course. This is highly subjective and I didn't r...

Re: Battling Extreme Fatigue - What Works for You?
Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. I'm going to try the natural approach first (magnesium rich foods, baths). I'll keep you posted on how it goes

Re: Battling Extreme Fatigue - What Works for You?
What other supplements are you taking? What kind of diet are you following? Do you exercise regularly? I try to ride a bike several times a week for exercise. Sometimes its difficult because I'm so exhausted, but I just have to force myself to do it... then I usually have to lay down and rest for a...

Re: Battling Extreme Fatigue - What Works for You?
Thanks for all the info everyone. Did you try with Vitamin D? I'm not sure if it is related, but since I take it regularly I have less fatigue. Yes I take Vit D. I'm taking 5000 IU daily right now. I was taking less (2000 IU every other day or so) and had my Vit D levels checked last month. My neuro...

Battling Extreme Fatigue - What Works for You?
Hi guys, I haven't been on here in a while. I've been struggling with extreme fatigue lately and just wanted to ask if anyone here has tried anything that helps. I used to find caffeine helpful, but the fatigue has been so bad recently I've had to consume way more of it, which ends up keeping me up ...

Re: to spinal tap or not
My advice to you is to avoid the spinal tap unless absolutely necessary. Its one of the most painful things you can possibly experience. Not only do they stick a GIANT needle in your spine (and it hurts like hell!), it also disrupts the equilibrium of your spinal fluid since they remove some of it. ...

This guy is a true hero! Now he's going on a 395 mile bike ride to raise money for injured veterans. Amazing.

Hi Billmeik,
I know from experience that its possible to relearn to do something and get back what you've lost. I've been having a lot of success with coordination exercises lately. What kind of eye exercises are you doing to reorganize your pathways and re-teach yourself to see?
Thanks,
-b

Re: Dramtic decrease in EDSS with Liver Transplant ? Why ?
Wow, this whole liver business is really interesting. Glad it got bumped up, a lot of good info here. Just thought I'd chime in with a little anecdote from Chinese Medicine. I see an accupuncturist regularly. The last time I had a full-blown relapse, my accupuncturist gave me a very thorough treatme...

Have you guys ever heard of Steve Gleason? He's a bit of a folk hero around here. He's an ex-pro football player (played for the New Orleans Saints) who now has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig's dissease. He was diagnosed 2 years ago, only a few years after retiring from football....

Re: RRMSers: What meds are you on?
I'm pretty sure the low blood pressure started with the Rebif. Pre-Rebif, whenever I got my blood pressure checked at the doc's office, no one said anything. Post-Rebif, the nurse always seems to have something to say after taking my vital signs. Like "wow, your blood pressure is low." or ...

Re: RRMSers: What meds are you on?
I take Refif 44mcg. Also I take various supplements: Vit D, a multivitamin, ginko biloba, EGCG, turmeric, fish & flax oil. Oh, and naproxen to ward off the dreaded flu-like Rebif side effects.
I have low blood pressure
