Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
Nigel, Most chiropractors don't use base posterior or vertex views for upper cervical rotation. As I recall, your chiropractor uses an open mouth odontoid view to determine rotation of C2. You can't accurately determine rotation by muscle tests and static palpation. Just thought I'd chime in here t...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
Dr. Koontz, The Planmeca looks like a nice piece of equipment. As an aside, all of the multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's cases I sent to Dr. Rosa's upright cine MRI studies so far have had Chiari 1 malformations and history of significant trauma. None were congenital. It sounds very interesting, a...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
Hello Nigel, The spinal canal has 3 layers of meninges that surround the spinal cord, the dura mater, arachnoid mater and the pia mater. The arachnoid mater is so named because it resembles spider webs. Arachnoiditis is the inflammation of the arachnoid mater. There are a couple of ways Arachnoiditi...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
Sharon Richardson of the CCSVI Alliance will be participating in the next study by Dr. Rosa. The study has been tentatively scheduled for July. The findings so far have been enlightening. What's even more interesting is the results Dr. Rosa has been getting. In addition to specific upper cervical x...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
Good Evening Everyone, I thought I'd poke my head in and say hello since I haven't come around in a while. I was thinking about everyone here and how things were progressing and I'm happy to still see some familiar names :-D I wanted to post a case regarding Chiari malformation and upper cervical ca...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
Hello Everyone, I just ran across some videos this weekend that I found very interesting and thought all of you here would too. The first one is about an Australian named Joe Cross. 100 pounds overweight, loaded up on steroids and suffering from a debilitating autoimmune disease, Joe Cross is at the...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
Nigel, Besides the A-P Open Mouth (APOM) and Lateral Cervical the other imaging methods discussed in those other links can all show rotation. However, just because they can take the picture doesn't mean they can interpret it correctly. That is why I listed all of them. You can mention all of those v...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
Hello Nigel, Here are some links that show & briefly describe the x-rays as well as some alternative imaging techniques using MRI and CT. This page covers a Nasium and a Vertex view: http://www.humberparkerson.com/DrPOct06.htm This page from UpCSpine.com covers not only x-rays but advanced imagi...

Hello Dr. Flanagan,
Thank you for the referral. They brought their child in to see me just over a week ago. I'll send you an email this weekend.

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
The FONAR findings are interesting. The article says; "the vertebrae were rotated 5-6 degrees from their normal alignment". Does that mean rotated about the vertical axis of the spinal cord? If so, is that something that a UCC doctor could see in the x-rays they take with a new patient? H...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
Hello Everyone, I've been away for a while focusing on my office. I'm very happy to see that this thread is still alive and well with Dr. Flanagan leading the way. I heard about the results of the UpRight MRI and wanted to post the information on it here but it seems that Nigel is on top of things a...

Hello Everyone, Just popping in to say hello. It's been several weeks since I've checked the site. I'm very happy to see that it's still going strong. I'm just finishing up 6 weeks of intensive Greek classes and a move in to a new house. I wanted to share a video with all of you that an Upper Cervic...

(in nz we have xrays done instead or mri to see if anythings wrong, the problem with that, if you other issues going on it wont show,) Chiropractors are taught to read MRI's but we do not take them. Currently MRI's are of little to no value in determining how a chiropractic adjustment is made. Most...

hello to everyone. I'm wondering if it's normal to feel so weak and sleepy (all of the time) after being adjusted. I've had 2 adjustments in the past month and have felt this way for approximately 2 weeks. Am due to be checked again in 2 days' time. Did anybody else feel like this? Hello Colapesce ...

i also know that adjustments are dangerous, and could kill some people with chiari malformation, or make their symptons worse very fast, chiari cannot be fixed, its there for life, its not worth the risk to end up worse when you have no option to get better afterwards, its very risky, and should no...
