Re: some details on adverse events listed by FDA
FDA oversight is limited to clinical trials not retrospective studies. Balloon catheters are class II devices. Efficacy is not required only demonstration of safety. Despite these points, and I could list others, they suggest consulting with a neurologist. Is there another example of the FDA suggest...

Re: simple CCSVI
I have a suggestion to all. If you are going to attribute something to a physician or clinic. Post a reference to something official from them. Simply posting something second or third hand is inappropriate. I state this for all clinics or physicians. Hearsay wastes all our time.

"blood thinners"
Our initial experience with CCSVI did not entail usage of blood thinners. Venous thrombosis, while uncommon, results in symtom relapse in most cases if it occurs. To minimize this we began recommending anticoagulation. We did so recognizing the unlikely but real possibility of bleeding complications...

IVUS

Specifically it doesn't assess flow What has become clear is that CCSVI is a disorder of flow. Diagnosis and treatment rest on venographic e...

Renals and iliacs
The renal and iliac veins in no way shape or form cause CCSVI. Myself, Drs. Simka, Siskin and Moguel differ in our approach to CCSVI. However we are the four most experienced physicians in the world. Having performed the procedure approximately 500 times each. None of us go near a renal or iliac vei...

I am truly sorry to hear of the frustrations encountered on this board. Let me address a few things. First we no longer treat patients in Downey. They are part of Vascular Access Centers and I have resigned from practicing there. Our new center in Costa Mesa is state of the art. The difficulties of ...
