Re: My blood work results
Yes, in my opinion. In the first post of this thread, you reported that your blood test results for vitamin B12 was 472 pg/ml. In the book I am currently reading, Could It Be B12? by Sally Pacholok, RN, BSN & her husband Jeffrey Stuart, D.O., in which they describe testing results, your result of 472 is borderline deficient.Youarethecure wrote:Should I do b12 as well? there is some in the multi I take.
They advocate (on page 11) the threshold needs to be raised "because deficiencies begin to appear in the cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) below 550 pg/ml." They say, "At this time, we believe normal serum B12 levels should be greater than 550 pg/ml. For brain and nervous system health and prevention of disease in older adults, serum B12 levels should be maintained near or above 1000 pg/ml."
My hypothesis: excess insulin (hyperinsulinemia) plays a major role in MS, as developed in my initial post: http://www.thisisms.com/forum/general-discussion-f1/topic1878.html "Insulin – Could This Be the Key?"
