Hi Erica,
I apologize in advance if you already know about this: Have you read the CCSVI and CCVBP started by Dr. Flanagan? His TIMS user name is "uprightdoc," and he's been helping lots of people, including me, with Upper Cervical Chiropractic. He'll answer any of your questions. Cheerleader (Joan Beal) recently gave her approval, and now more people are looking into this. Here is a link to NUCCA which will also explain this type of chiropractic medicine: NUCCA

Hi there!
Yes, I started to read it from the beginning. I found a good quality chiropractor in Slovakia - 33km far from my place last year. I made an appointment last November and was treated at the beginning of January. Except other things he had to adjust my atlas. He spent one hour working on me. It was not painful at all. The atlas adjustment was just noisy.
It has been 4 months already and I feel the same. Well, just my crazy eyes got worse and the annoying and painful sensation of electricity and poison and weakness in my arms...
It is not new symptom but lasts longer.
Anyway, thanks!

Erica, if you haven't already, I strongly urge you to contact Dr. Flanagan by post, PM, or email. He will gladly look over your X-rays/MRIs and give you advice.

Maybe your first adjustment didn't hold for long, just like my first one didn't. More than one adjustment might be needed for the muscles and ligaments in the neck/head to hold their new position. Now I only go back when needed which is not often -- numbness creeping back into my feet tells me I need an adjustment.

I'm hoping you feel better real soon.

18 months after
Before I start: I am not disappointed, I am not complaining and I certainly do not blame anybody for anything!

From the right eye pain has developed another relapse. My vision really got worse. Pain is better. My arms are weaker and I also feel pain in them. I am lucky I do not have it in my legs. I would not be able to walk. It is very slowly getting better but I know it will not be as good as before. I am not able to drive anymore.
Well, so this is my second relapse after the procedure and 14th during my MS diagnosis. However it is not as bad as the relapse last year.
I still have all my old symptoms and some of them are getting worse. I do not have any new symptoms. Heat, weather changes and headaches are still huge problem for me.
Some of my other problems: fatigue, sleepiness, tinnitus, nerve pain in my right arm, poor memory, vertigo, nausea, cog fog...
L-Glycine does not help my fast heart beat but I continue with it.
Sorry, I am not able to type anymore because of my weak arms and poor vision.

22 months after my procedure

22 months after my procedure
I’m still getting worse. Especially my mornings are horrible. It’s like I get too strong general anesthesia and cannot wake up.
My arms are still sore but my right eye got better after my last relapse in April.

Hi Erica. I guess I am backsliding myself. I haven't sung anything for you yet, but I still play my piano (if you can call it playing) almost every day. I have taken to a baclofen on a regular basis, mostly in the evenings. I get headaches, and I have real trouble with heat. Like you, I have no regrets, as withou the procedure I know I would be even worse.

I still intend to sing a song. Maybe I will start with instrumental-only, since singing and I are such fair-weather friends. I have tried a couple but they don't sound like much.

I play from the book "Rise Up Singing". It has many good songs, and is a reasonable fakebook for me. The title came from the Gershwin tune "Summertime". I learned an approximation of Stevie Wonder's You Are The Sunshine Of My Life today. I can proudly say I put the E flat passing chord back in, that the book left out. So don't give up on me yet.

I think of you often, and always read what you have to say.

Hi 1 eye!
I am not able to sing loud because I am too weak but I sing in my mind. Sing it in your mind and I will hear it

This is about my D3 treatment.
My first test results more than a year ago were only 7,09 ng/ml.
My second check result test was (after taking 10 000 IU per day) 20,03 ng/ml.
My third check result from last week was 22,25 ng/ml.
So from now I will take 20 000 IU per day and will have the test in 3 months.

Jimmylegs will likely ask if you're also taking a zinc supplement. It may help with the absorption and utilization of D3.

Erika--
really sorry to read this. Are you still working? How are you managing?
Please know many of us are sending you good thoughts. Hope you get your D3 levels sorted out, and find some sort of relief.

How on earth could your vitamin D levels still be so low after all you've done to raise them. Hopefully the higher dosage will do the job. I hope things turn around for you.

Hi NHE!
Yes, exactly. As I think of Jimmylegs very often and read many of his posts I take 5 mg of Zinc every day.

Working??? 8O I had to stop working because of MS in 2004.
I even had to apply for nursing home. It is quite scary because the diet there is a lot of milky products some beef and pork as well. I will have to stop all my supplements even LDN as I will not be able to afford it. I think people here have quite wrong imagination about my life. I still live at home with my family but we only have one bathroom so I must go.

Actually I read somewhere that 5000 IU is only for maintaining current status so may be I will have to take higher dosage until I reach at least 50 ng/ml and after I will be able to take only those 5000 IU per day to keep those 50 ng/ml.
I will inform you in case I will still have the internet.

NHE you know me too well :)

Erika, if you can get a zinc test, please do so. your levels need to be close to the 18 umol/L level. that way you'll know if your regimen is effective.

given the trouble you're having with D3, i would be willing to wager you do not get enough.

to me, 5 mg per day does sound low - i tend to take 25-50 mg per day. my latest product has 15 mg per caplet and i take one with each meal for a daily total of 45 mg.

you should not need to be taking d3 doses in the order of 20,000 IU per day in the long term. IMHO you are throwing money down the toilet if your liver doesn't have zinc around to help process the supplemental d3 intake.

ps i'm female - not everyone gets seinfeld jokes, but i was forced to watch episodes ad nauseum for a decade or so

"KRAMER: Yeah, because she's throwing off my whole sleep. She's got the jimmy legs.
ELAINE: (confused) Jimmy legs?
Kramer raises one leg and judders it in the air, as illustration.
KRAMER: Jimmy leg.
ELAINE: (grasping the concept) Ohh."
