Hi Kathryn 2 days sleeping flat is not enough to determine differences.
Will you please keep us up to date for one month after returning back to flat bedrest?
This will be very useful for everyone.
A minimum of 4 months of Inclined Therapy is advised and some have gone 6 months before they have experienced a reversal of ms symptoms. Depends on how much damage to the nervous system there is and how long a person has been unable to exercise daily by walking instead of sitting and laying flat as with a person who relies on a wheelchair.
Everyone is different. Every persons symptoms are different, every persons reaction to Inclined Therapy is therefore going to be different.
I can understand the difficulties in being separated from your husband. Have you considered tilting the main bed / mattress?
In the previous 2 ms pilot studies the form, used advised / requested people taking part to revert back to flat for 7 days to determine any differences. This was very informative and should you decide to revert back, your unbiased reports would prove interesting.

Inclined Bed Therapy
Thank you Andrew! This is amazing. I have tried many different things to help MS over the years especially the past year and this is like a miracle for me. The results are dramatic. I started with a 3 inch block under the bed for 5 days - no problems but no difference in symptoms or not enough to notice. For the past 3 weeks I have raised the bed the full six inches. Right away I was able to get out of the bed in the morning and walk - not bent over, stiff and dizzy. No spasticity and with energy! Within a couple of days the pain in my legs went away. I have had that for over a year. Just this week the numbness in my fingers which I have had for the same length of time is almost gone. The other amazing thing I noticed is my face isn't swollen at all in the morning and eyes less bloodshot. For my whole life, if I cried any time during the day, the next morning my eyes would be swollen sometimes almost shut and my head would pound all day long. We had a doggy dying so I was crying alot and there was no swelling or pounding at all. . Sitting at the computer too long during the day is bad too but this has even helped me be able to sit at the computer longer. I am sure there is more but these are the ones that stand out to me right now. It is so simple. Thank you again Andrew!! My kids are so impressed, they are now sleeping on an incline. Husband is seriously considering it.

Thanks for adding your voice to the growing number of people positng in this thread. Awesome report, yet followed by silence in the forum?
The level of Ignorance towards this simple therapy in people with ms is even more astonishing than the reports from those who embraced the concept and gave it the benefit of the doubt.
It is time that everyone with ms tilted their beds and slept as nature intended us to.

I am thankful and very surprised at how immediate the results were. I was expecting a much slower go after reading through the posts. I am so enthused about it that I am telling everyone I know. My friends noticed a big difference and may give it a try even if they don't have MS. Why not? It is so easy. I feel years younger.
My name is Ken Uzzell, I am a massage and trauma therapist living in Australia. My speciality is removing trauma from the body and have 15 years clinical experience.Cyclops wrote:I've been sleeping with the bed inclined for about a month. I feel far more rested when I wake in the mornings. After a couple of weeks I started having sort of flashbacks - remembering things I hadn't thought about in years. It was quite intense for a few days. It was only afterwards that I thought that it might be connected to the inclined bed.
Cyclops
I heard about Andrew's IBT from a homeopathic doctor and have many hundreds of clients now sleeping on inclinded beds and have gathered quite a bit of information about the responses experienced.
The Flash Backs is quite a common experice for people experiencing IBT, a few weeks after start-up. These flash backs only last a few days and are often discounted and not commented upon by people unless I ask them about it.
Congratulations Cyclops for noting it and sharing your experience here.
Now this is one of the major and hidden benefits of IBT and an area I have been trained in and have a clinical skill set and level of expertise that I use regularly with clients to resolve long term trauma issues.
http://www.myofascialrelease.com/fascia ... efault.asp
Myofascial Release by John Barnes is what I have certification.
The basics are we use gentle and prolonged traction to areas of the body to unwind fascia - the fascia is the connective tissue that holds all our organs and structures in place. It has hydration and elasticity - and the interesting one, fascia has memory, in that the subconscious mind deposits physical manifestations of its trauma into the body fasica and the fascia looses a level of hydration and elasticity with the associated trauma.
When traumatized the fascia binds down on body organs and fluid networks within the body, creating restrictions that effects all aspects of our wellness and longevity. MS could well be one of the diseases linked to a build-up of life trauma's. These can be injury traumas as well as emotional relationship traumas, or the loss of a loved one, or even a mother giving birth can be registered by the body as a trauma. I know of a few people with MS that developed MS soon after giving birth to a baby. How-ever, this is no reason to not have babies, there were other issues present. The birthing process was the straw that broke the camels back.
These flash backs to earlier events people have is the product of IBT generating a fasica release - in fact a major fasica trauma release and for people who experience it, which we all do to certain levels, will herald in a major change and improvement in their wellness.
These are quite often phobias that are released out of the body. As the body stretches out with the low level traction provided over an 8 hour sleep period - the fascia surrenders its trauma, and hydration and elasticity is returned to the body - the images people experience are real life events that trigged the trauma in the 1st place. So our body even tells us what it is giving up.
Andrew's discovery is a medical revolution - and current research is displaying that we have a major break-through in the treatment of many diseases.
Keep up the great research and lets hope we see some really positive results for you all. I have aided a few MS suffers throw away their walking frames and walk free by giving them the therapy that IBT provides for free.
Give it time and go gentle on yourselves - I've been sleeping on IBT for a couple of years and am experienceing very positive results. I see hundreds of people who now sleep inclined and the benefits and results are simply staggering.
It is wonderful that you are giving this therapy a go.
Sincerely,
Ken Uzzell

Week 5 of IBT, 1st at 8 inches
I’ve given up all but one pillow. I slide down a lot during the night – even 10cm. I sleep just fine even though much less. Still not dreaming, or at least can’t remember afterwards. No back pain or any minor ache even which is good I suppose. On Saturday I went to a family do where I received first objective insight into the improvements I noticed as everyone commented on how well and straight I look. I was very pleased
.
I am now able to get in bed from the wheelchair without much assistance. I couldn’t do it with such ease for a few years now. It must mean my muscle strength is improving greatly. Unfortunately, my spasticity is pretty severe in every part of my body lol. I never had such trouble before, at least not after I’ve exercised. Yesterday was 51 days of daily exercises. It must be a record. I’ve been ill for 19 years, and it’s the first instance of my resolve not wavering once. Maybe it’s because I’m out of school/college and I don’t have a steady job so I don’t have any excuses, but that was also true last year. Or maybe I’m finally mature and determined enough to know what’s good for me, but it doesn’t seem right. I’m just full of energy and I’m so thrilled! It must be due to inclined bed, what else? I’m not on any drugs.

Been on IBT since Dec 27. Just started dreaming and remembering dreams from a few days ago. It has been over a decade since I have remembered a dream. I am not feeling too well lately but I may need to raise my bed a bit more, it is at 5.5 inches and my bed is queen sized so likely 80 inches long. the trig ratio tells me it should be raised 7 inches. Will give that a try. I can't thank Andrew enough for this valuable information because without it I would be in bad shape.

Thanks for posting this in the forum. I am sure it has taken a while for people to realise what you are saying here, and indeed you have said before on your own website and in electroherbalism as a comment to an article about Inclined Bed Therapy here: http://www.electroherbalism.com/Naturop ... erapy.html
I really appreciate your help Ken

The angle of my bed is slightly under five degrees. The angle range we are playing with is 4.58 degrees to the 7 degrees used for helping people with spinal cord injury. 8 degrees has also been used by a firend with psoriatic arthritis.

Andrew i notice from an earlier post of yours a touch of disapointment at responce to an update that was very positive.
Do not get dispondant many people read the post with excitment but do not post. MY SELF INCLUDED. I have been reading the forum for months as a guest but only joined last week.
This is my first attemt to rectify this
I started ibt saturday straight to 6"
Saturday sleep not much got up with stiff neck, back ache, and an afternoon headache on waking.
Sun night sleep was better, woke with no headache which is more than unusual and only slight stifness in neck. headache as normal in afternoon.
Woke this morning Tues again very little head ache, no stiffnes at all and had a little more energy today, this may be why having done more i have a middle headache now (i have not been headache free for over 3 years now) hope my 1st attemp not to bad keep up the good work

Thanks for the progress report. Make sure you drink more water when using I.T. because it can dehydrate aswell as hydrate.
Keep a diary and pleae come back and let us know of any changes over the coming weeks / months.
You may experience more spasm, pain and stiffness as IBT begins to take effect.
