am not sure if there is soy in my liquid d3 supplement. i don't know who the supplier is but i got it from a compounding pharmacist and it's 1,000,000 IU/gm. you don't need a prescription when they don't do anything to it except put it in a bottle for you.
The only reason that I am looking for a soy-free one is to fall within the BBB diet regulations. As for a compounding pharmacy, do you just go there and ask for a strong solution of D3 (like your 1,000,000 IU)? I know you said that I did not need a prescription, but I just want to make sure that they will not look at me like I am crazy when I ask for this. :)

I'm not sure about Vit-D however i know that Carlson's brand of Fish Oils and Mixed Tocopherols (Vit-E ) is the only brand i've found that doesn't have ''soy'' as part of the ingredients and i usually purchase those two products at either I-Herb or Vitacost.

omg i so missed that question. sorry!!! yes if you go to a compounding pharmacist and say you want to purchase the entire minimum order of liquid d3 1,000,000 IU/gm they should be amenable. ask for a graduated oral syringe to go with it. my syringe lets out 25,000IU drops as the smallest i can get out. the full syringe holds 1mL.

Thanks guys, I am starting to figure all of this out. Have been on a modified BBB diet with many of the suggestions for vitamins. At the moment I cannot tell if it is all helping, but no new attacks and minimal numbing make it seem like it is. I guess that is all I can do - and pray. :D

I am confused where to start from.I know I should have done it right after Dec 2005 but there is never too late I'll be very grateful to all.

the way I take things also is important.
vitamin A and D should not be at the same time because they share the same receptors (heterodimer)
vitamin K and E work opposite each other and should not be taken together although K may be avoided if you have high platelets and your blood needs thinning
so D and K work together to help calcium a mineral very important to the nervous system
A,C,E and Bs should be taken together
if you have come up low on potassium then you should replace it with magnesium because magnesium and potassium deficiencies go hand and hand.

I have played around with differen tsuppliments mixing, matching, doses, ect...
What works for me:
vit D (x2) with calcium
fish oil
potassium
magnisium
B complex
asprin 975mg.

all taken at once, every morning. Followed by a no carb diet (except for beer) :D
w/m 44
The problem comes with the decision of weighing the unknown with the unknown.

Fish Oil Supplements

Post by JennInNY »

One thing I learned about fish oil supplements this week is to make sure that you read the label and that they are "filtered". If it doesn't say, call the 800 number on the bottle and ask. If they are not filtered, they contain all of the mercury and other toxic ingredients that, unfortunately, our fish are containing. Filtering takes out the toxins before putting them into supplement form.

molecularly distilled

Post by jackD »

The proper way to get "clean/nontoxic fish oil" is make sure that the bottle indicates that "State-of-the-art molecular distillation process was used to remove mercurcy, PCBs and dioxins etc .

Sometimes they just say it was "molecularly distilled".

This is more than just filtering the oil - in the conventional usage of the word "filter".

Did you get you "D" levels checked? Mine were extremely low and I do 5000iu a day helped out dramatically for me. I was having debilitating spasms before taking the D.
