I tried to get acetyl-L-carnatine for my mother but it seems to be banned in canada. One store had some under the counter and it was $80 for 60 pills or something. She had tried amantadine (at the behest of the MS clinic) with bad results.
Does anyone know of any other fatigue treatments that work that are available in canada? I don't think her doctors want to give her ritalyn or dexidrine or anything fun like that.

Last year, I experimented with a bottle of Now brand acetyl-L-carnitine taking 750 mg in combination with 50 mg of R-Lipoic acid and it seemed to help my mental energy levels. Here's a link to the brand that I used.

Why is acetyl-L-carnitine banned in Canada? i don't know that much about it myself. i heard that at the local health food store they can no longer sell their most effective st john's wort remedy, because it is suspended in olive oil. i don't know how C6 could be affecting this given the skeptic viewpoint above? i haven't read the whole bill. that st john's wort thing sounds a lot more like C51, but i thought we shut that one down. i am not on top of the situation because it doesn't seem to affect most basic nutrient products.
