
Background: In the pediatric Multiple Sclerosis (MS) population large and controlled studies on safety and efficacy of Natalizumab have not yet been performed. In literature there have been no cases of Natalizumab-related Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML) reported in paediatric population with MS.
Case Report: A 14-year-old girl presented in October 2009 diplopia, gait ataxia, vomiting and impaired mentation, preceded by asthenia, fever and left sensory loss lasting for 3 days, 1 month earlier. MRI showed a diffuse leukoencephalopathy with large lesions in brainstem, semioval centers and spinal cord with diffuse gadolinium enhancement. The IgG Index was increased. After treatment with i.v.
