@jugular: I agree 100% with what you say. Whatever I do will not modify the nerves already damaged.

Algis, so sorry about the chiro situation in your country. I've found that having hope makes living with MS easier, so we will put our hope into Daflon while we keep looking for other ways to help ourselves, such as...
Everyone, in the General Forum, there is a very informative thread that contains great links about neurosteroids in the brain: http://www.thisisms.com/forum/general-d ... 17956.html Some people are calling this a possible breakthrough, but I don't know enough about the topic of hormones to form an opinion yet.

dania, thanks for the link to the abstract! The treasure chest of links to other studies at the bottom of the page will be keeping me busy reading.dania wrote:More proof.

Re: This is facinating!!!!!
I've found another brand of flavonoid called Enzogenol (similar to pycnogenol, but less refined), which was developed here in NZ using Pinus Radiata Bark (it grows like a weed here, and is the major species of our forestry industry, it's certainly not a native specie). A study was done in NZ and a paper published. here http://www.enzoprofessional.com/assets/ ... 202003.pdf
Enzogenol appears to have increased the blood flow, viscosity(?) and reduces inflammation, best mixed with Vit.C.
These flavonoids are so interesting, and because Enzogenol is readily available here (and I like to support the home industry), I might try it out.
I'm still taking a hesperidin/Rutin complex.

Please don't give up on your nervous system. It has oodles of redundancy and retraining capability, though it can take more time and effort than are available. The brain is plastic! You can't teach an old dog new tricks, but the older ones come back under the right circumstances, so get yourself the best circumstances you can!

Re: Diosvein for circulation
I have been taking Diosvein 1 cap 3x/day for poor leg circulation. My legs are frozen and feet are purple. CCSVI had no effect. Suggestions?

Doppler echo for the leg veins?? Maybe it's CVI (you know about the 'Ginger case'?)
Re: This is facinating!!!!!
Trent, I agree with Robnl. I suggest you get an ultrasound of the leg veins to check to venous insufficiency. My ultrasound which was done after my second procedure showed CVI in both legs, in both the superficial and deep veins.
I was advised to wear compression stockings and have done so everyday/all day for over a month (actually compression pantyhose as they stay up better). I was fortunate as the purple colour and temperature of my feet improved quite a bit following my first angio so I don't know if the stockings would help this but it's worth a try. The stockings have enhanced the improvements that I noticed after getting my renal stent in July 2011, specifically, I have less pain and can walk further and have a quicker recovery time. The swelling in my ankles which started about 18 months ago is pretty well gone. Hope this is helpful.

Re: This is facinating!!!!!
Hi Guys,
Gosh, I'm a "Johnny Come Lately" on this thread, but a friend pointed it out to me. I wanted to jump on because flavonoids are something I've been studying (and truth be told, experimenting with on my own body!). I just wanted to toss out that I was taking Luteolin and stopped because I didn't think it was doing anything. Interestingly, I felt compelled to order it again yesterday. Hmm.. My subconscious at work?
What appeals to me about flavinoids are that they mitigate mast cell degranulation, and if anyone around has seen me lately, I've been working on becoming "Masto Masta'"! Wow, has mast cell treatment changed MY life!
Anywho, Diosmin also decreases the release of protaglandins and protects against liver toxicity. Those of us with mast cell involvement need help controlling both of these issues. Also, I have "hyperadrenergic POTS" with too much norepi production (I believe an attempt to help with vasoconstriction of veins and it just ain't happening). Diosmin prolongs the vasoconstrictor effect of norepi on the vein wall. I'm so there!
So, again, I continue to donate my body to science and am going to order some Daflon today, and get back on more flavinoids. I just wish I could have started this BEFORE becoming ill! Don't you wonder if it could have prevented our illnesses to begin with? Thanks for letting me jump on, my friends. I'm always astonished at the level of intellect in this brain trust.

Well, hi there, Blossom! How are YOU?blossom wrote:glad to see you here dr. diana. have wondered how you are doing and what you have been up to.
I've just been crazy busy with clinical trials, speaking engagements (love those -- did you catch the Global CCSVI Expo?), writing abstracts for ISNVD coming up, helping a gazillion people at once (that's gotten way out of hand, honestly -- I need to use technology more and one on ones less), working on my website and forum there (what is with all of this spam, anyway?), working on Part 2 of The Driscoll Theory, and continuing to experiment on my own body! Whew! It is a crazy, but wonderful time. I miss you all and look forward to catching up, changing my website a bit, getting my webinars started (trying to reach the masses), and finally catching up on email so I get dive back in with you all.
I saw the abstracts for ISNVD. Holy cow. People are working hard. It is very encouraging. I'll pop back on for a longer amount of time after ISNVD, OK? Oh, I get to see our wonderful Dr. Sclafani there! Yea! It should be fun and eye-opening.
Gentle hug to you, Blossom.
Diana
