Antibiotics for treating ms in Australia -- New Member

Hi My name is Patricia an i have 2pms. I have had it for 23years and have been in a wheelchair for five years. About 2 years ago i started to get worse slurring word and i could not use my arms to push my wheelchair. About 1 month ago i saw a tv programme on MS with Dr David Wheldon and Sarah. I started this antibiotics treatment straight away with help of my Dr. Day 26th Numbness in legs is 80% gone .Toes and foot moving slightly. Can lift arms above head and move my fingers. Slurring is gone . Got back in old wheelchair and was able to push myself around my lounge room for a short time. I thinks the attacks are stopping. Will know more when i take the 3rd antibiotics. My carer is writing this , will keep you posted

no .i was going down hill fast needed to to do something and then saw tv programme catalyst with Dr D Wheldon. Got antibiotics and all supplements. Day 29 . Will get tested soon. Need new mri as well.

I agree with Rica here. This whole thing tends to be a process of two steps forward then one back. You had a big improvement at first but now it has moderated, so wait for the next step forward!

Hi Sarah Tricias carer here . I would like to know at what time of day did you take your antibiotics because when i give her the pills in the morning at 7am she gets really tied by 9.30am and wants to go back to bed an sleep for 3-4hrs. Did you take them in the evening. Is their any reason that she could not take them in evening? I divide the supplements morning, noon, evening.Thank You Mick

Hi Mick, pleased to meet you! Abx can be taken at anytime, the only proscriptions are that calcium or magnesium should be taken at least two hours apart from the antibiotics and also any probiotics should be taken two hours apart. Don't forget to take probiotics because it is very important but take them away from antibiotics because they will stop the abx working properly.

Thank you for that information i have changed the antibiotics till 7pm, works better. I did not know that probiotics were to be taken well away from antibiotics. Thats now in place Mick

Hi Sarah Mick & Tricia here, well it is day 50 of the treatment and every thing is going well.Eyes have stopped flicking a hundred miles and eyes are slowly getting better. Chewing and swallowing has improved and Tricia has stopped chocking on her food, she can even eat a piece of toast with crust on, could not do that 7wks ago. Slurring has stopped. Fatigue is slowly going away. Tricia can also lift her arms above her head with half kil weight in her hands ,right hand weaker that left .Numbness from toes to waist is gone and she can move foot and toes. She gets me to put my hand at sole of her feet and pushes down and i can feel it. Does this mean that some day she might walk again? Tricia would like me to ask you have you come across any one who has had ms and been in a wheelchair for 5 years and with this treatment has been able to stand? I know this is a big call but if she move her feet on command that means that the signals are getting through? Anyway we are hoping that when the 3rd antibiotic is added more movement in feet will happen. Thank You Mick & Tricia.
