new member - just started metronidazole- feel very ill

Post by shilston »

Hi

I started Doxycycline in October, 3 weeks later I started roxithromycin then some weeks later the doxy was increased to twice a day. Each time I felt a little unwell but was ok in a few days. I started metronidazole yesterday and from the first tablet i felt very odd. today i feel very unwell so my question is should I leave it at that or continue for the 5 days. i have just been reading Dr Wheldon's treatment schedual and have seen that he suggest only taking the metroniadazole for one day in the first treatment cycle but on the updates page Dr Wheldon says that Sarah was given it for 5 days on the first cycle.

hope someone can help.

thanks

If I am not mistaken, Sarah was Dr Wheldons first MS patient, so what she did is not surprisingly different to what he would now recommend with more experience on the matter. Go with the recommendation.

I was his first patient and I was very impatient so I took t upon myself to take full dose for five days. David found he couldn't even do that himself and most people would give up if they had to. I felt it on my third pulse, though!

Hi Sarah

I didn't start it until the 1st of January so almost 3 months after the doxy. I think i will do one day again maybe next month, i will see how i feel. i am a bit impatient too but from what I am reading I must have patients.
