That's a step in the right direction Robbie. SPMS is not one I've really looked at but John and I have discussed if it gets to that we would definitely be more aggressive in our treatment. Maybe some with SPMS would list their choices as well as what they picked and what they feel are the benefits or lack there of. That might help you to decide as it is baffling at the best of times. You are on D3 right?????????That's a start
John was diagnosed Jan 2005. On lipitor 20mg .On Copaxone since July 4,2005. Vitamin D3 2000iu-4000iu (depending on sunshine months)June 10 2005(RX::Dr. O'Connor) Omega 3 as well Turmeric since April 2005. Q10 60mg. 1500mg liquid Glucosamine Nov 2005.
I just thought that because there is no black and white with any of the ms drugs that the abx has just a good a chance of helping as anything and when i think of taking chemo drugs or antibiotics i think i would choose the antibiotics. I tried LDN for 8 months and stopped because of no benefit. You and your wife have chosen Tovaxin , bromley and raven have chosen Campath others have chosen Tysabri and so on and so on, I guess it’s the same as when I was first diagnosed, beta interferon was in the spotlight so I got on it right away. Will just have to see what’s available and what I can qualify for. When you said trying anything is better than nothing I’m not sure I agree with that but for me maybe that’s true. Thx Lyon

A suggestion from the "insulin-girl," of course
Robbie, you must be expecting this from me, right?
IF you decide to meet with your doctor and try something new and different, perhaps it would be a reasonable plan to document your current status with several blood tests. It would establish a baseline so if something changes, you will know. (Maybe it's good to know if there are any other problems right now that should be addressed--high cholesterol, high triglycerides, etc.). And, of course, I urge you to request a "fasting serum insulin test" in that blood draw.
I'm glad to hear you are taking Vitamin D3 supplementation. Best wishes in whatever you decide to do!!!

Is draino a proven treatment? How did your wife decide to go with Tovaxin and not Campath or the others? What makes one drug stand out amongst the rest, is it the presentages of sucess or what it could do to u. Did u take the advice of your neuro or does that not really matter, it's your life and all that. Was me taking interferon because it was the best at the time and now they say that Campath is so much better. What a decision for people to make. That MRF sounds great and their ahead of schedule to boot. I'm glad there are so many options one of them is bound to be the right one..
WHEN THE RIDE STARTED Just another story, when I was younger I worked at a hunt club, it was a very rich affair. The members had their own lodge with full service. I took members and their guests on morning and afternoon hunts. Birds, pheasants mostly were the game of choice and I ran
The dogs that flushed them and retrieved them after they had been shot. We then eviscerated them at the end of each day. These birds were brought in from a bird farm on Pt. Peel Island which is a hot spot for the lyme tic in Canada. A couple years later when my symptoms began I was sure I had contracted lyme from all the contact I had with these birds, I contacted a doctor that considered lyme a reality and not just the thought of you’re crazy. He did all kinds of blood work some was sent to the states which I paid for. He said I did not have lyme but put me on a Rx of doxycycline anyway. At the same time I was seeing a neurologist, the one I mentioned in my previous story and he started me on interferon and I chose to stop the doxycycline, did I make the right choice not that it matters now? The lyme doc did find something else to warrant the doxy.
