CONTROL RE-ACTIVATION OF THE EPSTEIN BARR VIRUS.

If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

Thanks to you DIM I started taking FEVERFEW herb to control the EBV. I think my current problem is more structural than viral, but hope for the best.

Unfortunately bioavailability of Feverfew is minimal and there aren't supplements in lipophilic form, I do give it to my wife but I am going to start her Valacyclovir treatment, hope it will work!

Editor’s summary
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection predisposes individuals to multiple sclerosis (MS). Adaptive immune responses to EBV occur in deep cervical lymph nodes (dcLNs), yet the immune landscape in dcLN from patients with MS (pwMS) is not well understood. Sarkkinen et al. profiled immune cells from dcLNs of pwMS using fine-needle aspirations. By combining single-cell RNA sequencing and cellular indexing of transcriptomes and epitopes by sequencing, they identify expansion of double-negative memory B cells enriched for a transcriptional profile that resembled a lytic EBV infection. Furthermore, fewer germinal center (GC) B cells and GC T follicular helper cells were detected in pwMS, and GC clonality was reduced. These findings provide insight into MS pathogenesis at the site of adaptive immune response to EBV.

Hi,

These people like Giovannoni are trapped in the web they created themselves.
They have created a thinking of enormous complexity overlooking some basic factors.
And often their work considers biological issues after the event.

Of course EBV is a trigger of MS. But not the only condition.
98% of the population carries EBV, 2% is negative on EBV.
Among the people who are seronegative, there is virtually zero MS.
If you do the sums, this is proof that EBV is a factor that triggers MS.

The other important factor is cellular immunity.
Cellular immunity is key to keep herpes viridae in check.
I am not here to promote my own thinking but I do believe it comes much closer to what MS really is.
