'oven mitts' is a very good description. I've always used 'glovey-feeling' and then have to describe it as wearing winter gloves.

take care,

i'm the same. it's kind of like your hands went to sleep, puffed up and then you dipped them in some kind of semi-stiff coating. just like oven mitts.

Now if the neuros. and the researchers could wear oven mitts for a day and *try* to accomplish their tasks... we might all be on to something ;)

Oh and what about adding some glasses with smeared vaseline on them too to mimic some blurred vision, and putting uneven soled-shoes on them while we're at it?!!

This is all sooo true. If the neuros could spend a day in our shoes. I would give them a boat with waves, lots of waves, so they would know how it feels like to be off balance. Man, they would find something really quickly to cure this... It always feels good to bitch ..... Carolew

That's it exactly. Trying to do things with my hands is like having oven mitts.

By the way, I HATE oven mitts. I never use them. Potholders for me.

Apologies for bumping an old post but I'm entranced by the idea of MS Reality Simulation for neurologists:

Maybe they could be persuaded to spend the day in one of those old-fashioned funfair houses - the ones with sloping floors, irregular sized steps and crooked doorways. As an act of kindness we should provide a loo - possibly one that wobbles.

Alternatively, we could employ small boys to sneak up behind them and tie their shoe laces together.

Oh dear - that does sound rather vengeful,

Elia (shocked but unrepentant)

I LOVE it - this should be ms 101 for neuros...

Some say vengeance is sweet, but a dish best served cold
Please remain unrepentant - enjoying your sense of humour here

..........and let's not forget to talk about "clown shoes" while we're at it! Same feeling, I just didn't think it would translate well; me saying "I feel like I've oven mitts on my feet"......
