i gotta tell you,i have a whole respect for the people that have done abx protocal before me

i was dxd in 2001 floated along till july 1 2005, when my world fell apart
my left hand and foot went numb, my neor decided to put me on iv steroids and taper me off too quickly, the nurses called it a 'prednisone meltdown' they had to admit me to the hospital and redo the process again
that was when i found out ms was painful
my daughter got married june 2006, i was so strung out on morphine,codiene,gabapentin,baclofen and zanaflex i hardly remember it
when we got the pictures back,that was it i stopped all ms drugs and all pain meds except for ibeprofen and mj
jan 2007 my bladder did not work well so was put on some drug that started with a d
have struggle with uti's ever since till july when my body became septic and my kidneys shut down
since starting doxy no more uti's, my kidneys are back to normal and life was pretty good
i guess that was why i freaked when NAC caused so much pain so i'm gonna listen to sarah and take a break from NAC
pain is my biggest ms problem so i'm gonna take this protocal really slooooow and probably whine alot

I have a lot of respect for this lot as well. I am just a bystander and have observed keenly some of these experiences when MSers take antibiotics.
The WOW in your title I can relate to because this is exactly what I have said over and over again when my husband experiences what you are describing----this uncharachteristic reaction to abx (or NAC or both). From earlier experiences in life, I only ever knew abx to make one feel better, and right quick at that.
I now consider these reactions as diagnostic. It is a sure sign that if one has these unusual experiences, killing is ongoing and eventually you'll turn the corner.
I dislike hearing of you suffering, but you must know this is a good sign. I agree with the others....go as fast as you can while not making treatment intolerable.

Shell, I floated along for twenty years until my world fell apart as quickly as it took to wait in a post office queue. When I had finished I could hardly move. I was so gone mentally that I thought the sensible thing was to phone up my husband and ask him to bring down my bike so that I could cycle back home.
One thing, though, I have never been in pain, thank goodness. So do take a break from NAC. Its only essential in the later stages, when you are thinking of stopping full-time abx, to help guard against re-infection.
You doc said you looked a lot better, I said you were sounding better, your utis have stopped, so you're on your way!

For me, it was 9 years of floating along before some great indignities and misdiagnoses, wondering why I was tripping a lot, and not realizing I was becoming more and more foggy. I have no time today, but have to say very happy to meet you and yes, for some of us there is pain, but eventually it will get better and probably go away for good. Stay with us - we will cheer!

2010 5 years 4 months Now on Amoxicillin, Doxy, Rifampin, Azith, and caffeine in addition to flagyl. 90% normal good days-50% normal bad days. That is a good thing.
