Hi Frank, again good luck with the ligament this time!

By the way, if you can walk for 45 minutes with that pain, that is pretty good going.

Sarah :)

I got out of hospital this moring. Everything went fine so far.
The pain after surgery were mild to moderate but all in all easy to tolerate. Regarding that they put two screws in my ankle, drilled three holes through the bone and made a millcut to optimize the guidance of a tendon, I'm very happy with my current state.

They also use a new and much more convenient and useable kind of plaster which is more like a plastic ski boot with a textile inlay and an air cushion.

I'm able to walk with two cruthes - only short distances (100 meters) and really slow, but it works fine for inhouse use...

Hello Frank, glad to have you back! The screws, drilling and milling sounds awful, but I like the sound of the new plaster!

Over the past week I completed my 5th pulse. Everything went fine.
So far so good...

My leg feels pretty good at the moment - its nothing more than an inconvenience.
Next week I will get element added to my "plaster" that will allow me to bend the foot 10 degrees forward - to avoid stiffnes in the ankle.
Hopefully this will also make the walking a bit more comfortable.

Nice of you to ask.
Everything is going fine, I can now move my foot a little bit up and down without any problems.
Next wednesday I'm getting rid of my plaster. I will have to use the canes for the first few days, but I'm really looking forward to sleeping without a brick on the foot :)!

Next monday I'll start my 6th pulse.

All's well that ends well, hopefully, but enjoy your pulse. Any snow yet in Berlin?

Sarah

Yea some snow would be really nice - lets ask UPS what they can do for the UK and germany :).

I'm afraid my nystagmus and my spacticity got a little worse.

My VEP on the right eye is a bit more delayed than before (136). Its somehow difficult to judge if corrosponds to a current exacerbation because the previous VEP is from 2005, they use a new VEP device, my general eyesight has changed by 0.25 dioptre and my glases havent been adjusted yet.

The spacticity got worse since maybe three weeks. I mostly feel it in the morning when I want to get up, its a little hard to stretch out the legs. After getting up I only slightly notice it after sitting for a longer time (>1hr).

My neuro adviced me to do a course of steroids because as he says it does not have any negative consequences - I can not really agree with this (I usually feel really lousy for aprox. 6 weeks), but anyway...

I also had some kind of cold during the last week. I didnt have the typical symptoms but was always freezing and tired. It could also have been related to the ABX pulse.

I'm not sure what I'll do, I plan to make a decision until wednesday...
