Thanks for the update Cheer. It's really encouraging to hear Jeff is doing so well in such a short amount of time.

Seriously, nookie is a terrific vasodilator and mood enhancer!

Why do you think my handle is "cheer?"

Jeff is sleeping SO much better. Not waking to go to the bathroom (once, if that) His breathing is more regular and relaxed (no more breath catching or snoring) He wakes up refreshed and ready for the day. And he hasn't had leg pain for 3 days now. Since the procedure, just 2 days where his calves hurt- that's out of 11 days. It used to be constant everyday from 4pm til midnight....so the release of pressure from his cervical lesion is doing good things. Baclofen, neurontin- none of the drugs could touch that pain.

I'm thinking of our Marie driving down the coast right now...her husband at the wheel. I have so much hope for everyone...it isn't funny.

Not really sure cheer but I don't think either one of those drugs is a pain killer, only familiar with baclofen.

The baclofen was prescribed to relieve spasms, the neurontin (lyrica/gabapentin) was prescribed to relieve neurological pain- it's an epileptic anti-seizure medicine. Neither worked, just made him tired and more depressed. Lots of prescriptions offered for "symptom management." Don't need 'em today-

Two week update...today Marie goes in for the same procedure.
Our thoughts are with her.

I'll take a break posting here unless something changes radically...
Jeff continues to heal. No heat intolerance (and it's hot here!) No fatigue, he does not need afternoon naps. Head is clear upon waking, stays clear. Eyes no longer bloodshot. He feels energized, present. Leg pain greatly reduced...only 3 days of minor pain in 2 weeks. (Used to be everyday)
More sensitive to caffeine, he can only drink it in the morning, or has trouble going to sleep (like most people!)
He's back to his routine, exercising, working.
He wants to come on and talk about the differences he's feeling, but has been busy with work. Maybe I'll get him to post for himself this weekend....
