Took dad and my boy for a little topwater action this morning. Dad wanted some fresh fish for the frying pan. Lots of blowups and even a seven pound gaftop on a skitterwalk. All in all it was a good morning.
a little fishing report from today

Now thats "rubbin it in" LOL!! Been nasty weather here for about a month. I havent been able to get out, and the snook and redfish are on FIRE! To make matters worse, the Tarpon are in! I just have to take another with me to do the Tarpon thing cause I aint got the stamina to hang with a 160lb fish for very long anymore!
BTW, yall have nice size trout! Most of the trout we get over here are in the12" range. When I start catching them, I usually move. Every oncein a while though, we get some monsters running thru here in the 26" range...
Now I love to take the kids and put them on some big sailcats with light tackle. They have a blast.
Have you tried the mirro-dine 2 3/8" 17mr18? it is a TROUT SLAYER!!!

right now, for us the mirrolure top dog in a nightstalker color has been hard to beat. also bone is a popular color. I'm pretty sure the trout in Fl. are wormy? right....... i have a couple 17mr18's but the suspending baits for us do better in the colder months. We mostly us "Corky's"

i hear ya! luckily for us because of the Mississippi river our fish don't have them, but we don't have snook either! i usually go after flounder, we do have a good supply of triple tail close to the beach this time of year. They come in to spawn, but I have not been down that far south this year those are some great eating fish! as for Tarpon, i hear those are mostly sport fish and often in Mexico they are killed and used for cat/dog food?
