Yes, I guess it depends on how bad you are before you begin. People like Robbie and I were unable to work before we began. Now I am happily working once more.

An Itinerary in Light and Shadow Completed Dr Charles Stratton / Dr David Wheldon abx regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years. Still improving with no relapses since starting. Can't run but can paint all day.
Oh Sarah,
I know that Robbie is unable to work, and I have worried all morning that my question was worded badly. I just wondered how much worse he felt from the die-off. I now realize that if the herx reaction is too bad, I can change meds or stop. I had an "all or nothing" mindset, and I realize this is not how it has to be.
I have been almost 4 years since dx with no treatment except a couple of years of homeopathy. I worry that my time is running out.
Since Robbie is doing so good, and since I have tested high/positive for CPN antibodies, I think this should be my route. Getting my self out of the starting gate will be the issue.
Robbie, if I offended you, I am so sorry. You know I think you are the greatest.

Not at all offended Terry, i wasn't sure how to answer your question because of how everyone seems to react different to everything here not just abx. When i feel shitty it's a flu like feeling but if my legs were working i would definitely be going to work.I can't say weather to try it or not but i'm glad i did. Also two i have only taken the doxy so far and not the other abx so maybe this is why i haven't felt real real bad.

I can work with the flu, Robbie. I remember once I went to work with 104 temp thinking I'd do what I needed to do and come home. I walked in the door and took one look at my assistant and knew she was sick, too. She had a 103 and I sent her home. We were having the computers changed that day, and I fell asleep in my chair while the tech was working. I'm quite sure I snored. Loudly.
I can do this, then. I need your backbone. I am scared.
Where did you get your doxy?

I really don't think you should be scared. I have started the antibiotics 5 weeks ago. I can't say I am feeling much worse, I feel about the same so far with a little more energy and some moments that seem worse but don't last more than a day or two, and then back to the routine. I haven't stared the third one though but I think that if you take the recommended supplements properly, you will be very happy you did this on time.
Good luck with everything.

It's been just over six months now, feeling good. More energy, more strength, transferring from the chair to wherever is much eaiser. For the last month or so i have been able to use the bowflex machine to help strengthen my stomach which seems to be helping other parts move better. One thing also i have noticed is the urgency i had to pee has gone, now i can hold it which is a blessing that we can all understand.

Robbie, that is such good news!! Strengthening your stomach muscles should certainly help other things to move better and it is certainly good news about the urgency to pee: it took me much longer.

It would be really nice to be able to put links in here
If I have included a bad link, google the word "Scholar", click link for "Google Scholar". Search for the name of the paper and author in Google Scholar.

Hey Robbie! Just came across this post. If I repeat here, just ignore me.
You are having the Herxheimer reaction. (Some French doctor discovered this in the 1800s. Your body is dumping high volumes of dead bacteria and it will tend to give you flu-like symptoms. There is a "bath" formula a doctor came up with that will draw the dead bacteria out, but I no longer have it--sorry! Maybe you could search it.)
My daughter--Netherlands daughter--just had my first grandchild on Feb. 27...and she is beautiful! This will mean nothing to you I am sure, but they induced, she had about 3 contractions..demanded eipdural..was at 3 centimeters and FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER THE BABY WAS BORN! Her milk came in fully and she has had NO breatfeeding issues...except that she is making more milk than she can use!
She is staying at home...on her supplements...resting and trying to take real good care of herself to hopefully avoid any "MS" problems. Childbirth is usually followed by severe relapse...we'll see! She has been off of all MS meds for over 4 years now...
I will continue to follow your progress from time to time..and pray, pray, pray for you!!!
