Last week, we started a very interesting thread in the Inroductions section regarding how often we should expect to see MS occur in BOTH a husband and a wife (or significant other). VladFT did an excellent
analysis of the statistics and came up with the expected number of such situations in the USA.
His conclusion:
"The total number of marriages with both partners having MS MUST be less then 114"
The entire thread, and his very well presented mathematic reasoning is here:

Now then, if the true number of such marriages is more than approximately 114, then it implies a VERY important idea-- that MS might just have a communicable component. Now we are of course not attempting to conduct Journal of Neurology-esque research here, but it would be extremely interesting to get an idea of just how prevalent this is.
Your thoughts and experiences?

Thanks Arron ,
just a quick remark : Of course the exact number 114 comes from the analysis which is rough and by no means claims to be of "publishable quality"
What it gives though is the order of magnitude of such number, and fairly correct. That is this number should be well below let's say 100-150. To allow for some error.
If however we can find at least for example 150 - 200 of such couples in the US then we have a strong case !
Take care.
