Medical QiGong anyone?

Post by hannakat »

I guess it's more of an exercise but you can't get more natural than working with the earths energy!

Started practicing medical QiGong last fall and have been pleased with some minor changes in my physical and mental self.

Just wondering if anyone else practices it.

Hi hannakat. I haven't tried medical qi-gong but I'm doing buddhist body-based meditation and I cannot recommend it enough. It's about meditating with the body:

I'm glad you're starting QiGong NW4! I'm not sure about the difference but I'm practicing Medical Dao Yin. The sequence is to purge, then Doa Yin meditation 1-10, then the Daoist 5 (5 yin organ tonification exercies).

Last is the micro cosmic orbit (or Stroking Beard). I was told to do the micro cosmic orbti as often as I can throught the day following from the lower Dan Tien, up the front of the body (since I'm female) over top my head, then follow down the spine, around the bottom up the front to the lower Dan Tien and then circle into it. moving the Qi around and around while focusing (meditating) on directing the energy and breathing properly.

It's certainly made me aware of a lack of concentration but I'm getting better. You do have to have imagination to move the energy where you want it and that part comes easy to me!!

I really like this journey so far.

Thomas ~ thanks for the links. If the Budist can help me concentrate...woohoo. Correct breathing is HARD.
