Foot Drop
Foot Drop
Has anyone out there had any luck with a brace for foot drop? I have foot drop in one foot and seems to be getting worse. However, I am still strong in that leg. I have seen numerous braces advertised but hate to waste $$ on a device that won't help. Also I am skeptical of much advertising. Thanks for any info you can pass along.....
Re: Foot Drop
I THINK THAT A POSSIBLE SOLUTION COULD BE TO TALK WITH A SPECIALIST IN F.E.S. (FUNTIONAL ELECTRIC STIMULATION) THAT CAN GIVE YOU OPTIONS FOR PROVING BEFORE BUYING.
I DID SO.
GOOD LUCK!

Re: Foot Drop
Yes, in May I got the ToeOFF by allard. My insurance paid 80% and it works great, as long as I don't over do it. My prior brace worked, but was painful and restricted which shoes I wore more than my new brace.
Prior to getting this new brace, I did go through the evaluation for the electric walking aide. Beside the expense, I decided it wasn't right for me at this time. With young kids, you have to be ready for anything.
I hope this information is helpful!

Re: Foot Drop
You may find the best look searching for an "ankle foot orthosis." This is a device that usually straps to the calf, supports the foot (fits inside shoe), and prevents ankle plantar flexion.
Best of luck
