Exacerbation of symptoms after spinal tap?

If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

Exacerbation of symptoms after spinal tap?

Post by Fonzie »

Hey everyone,

I'm not diagnosed yet and just had spinal tap two days ago - it went well and I was very careful to lie down as much a possible for the 24 hours after. Now I started getting leg stiffness and weakness, sometimes it alternates legs and sometimes it's both (which is something I've never really had before) and my left knee buckles (which I've had for a long time, but it's much worse than usual). I spoke with a doctor and was told to just wait and see as this doesn't sound like it's caused directly by the spinal tap, so I was thinking maybe it's an exacerbation of my usual symptoms. Did anyone else have something similar happen after having a spinal tap done?

Thanks in advance! :)

I just had one done and didn't notice any change in my symptoms. I had the beginnings of what I thought might be a headache (didn't end up getting one though) and some very light nausea briefly when I was driving home, but that's it. Nothing that touched my MS symptoms.
