MS-UK Live Web Chat Service

Post by MSUK »

Web chat facilities are becoming more popular as a way of communicating and giving people more choice in the way they wish to do so. It opens up the support we can provide to a much wider reach.

Someone, somewhere in the world, whatever time of day it is where they are, may need to access a support service. MS-UK’s web chat service is the first of its kind for MS charities in the UK.

Since its launch in January last year it has enabled us to reach 13% more people than we previously have. Many of these were international callers showing an increase in the world wide reach of MS-UK.

The web chat service is available 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday UK time. It is a great way of contacting the Helpline for those who may not be in a position to pick up the phone. A private and confidential chat though the web chat service provides an instant response rather than waiting for an email reply.

Some people may not feel able to open up over the telephone depending on the subject they wish to discuss. Perhaps they feel too emotional, or a person may be at work and needing support in their lunch break but there is nowhere to go to make a call so a web chat facility to an experienced Helpline worker is a perfect way to communicate.

Feedback so far has been hugely positive and we look forward to supporting even more people throughout 2016 via our web chat service.
