hey abx users
i have 3 kinds of pain
1- leg cramping and heeby jeebies or jerk spasms-this i have under cntrol
2- ms 'hug'- a boa constrictor hugging the life from you
3- my arms and hands-1000's of little tensor bandages pulled as tightly as they can-have had very little relief from this in two years
mj helps to relax enough to sleep
have had everthing from baclofin to zanaflex-not much works
my pain causes me the most problems
did anyone else suffer with pain
did abx help or continue being agonizing

Shell, I didn't have much pain but I did have spasticity which has now all cleared up. I think others have seen a reduction in pain, but I can't speak for them.

Shell, you have my empathy AND my sympathy. Yes, I had huge pain that lasted what seemed a long time, was there all the time, and increased during pulses, and is now gone. Read this when yours gets bad and know that the sun will shine one day.

2010 5 years 4 months Now on Amoxicillin, Doxy, Rifampin, Azith, and caffeine in addition to flagyl. 90% normal good days-50% normal bad days. That is a good thing.

Those who care DO get upset seeing us in pain and even further impaired. There is not much they can do about it and they want to fix it NOW! But it takes a while. Richard (my husband) was "beside himself" sometimes because he couldn't fix it. Now, after watching me go up and down for three years, and moving inexorably UP, he smiles a lot.

Ella had a great deal of discomfort and that MS hug you talk about, some fasciculation (tremors) but not much pain. She gets a burning feeling on her right upper arm but she manages to make that go away with a glucose tablet. It works in small doses for her, as a first aid treatment.
It was very difficult for me to watch her go through this crisis that made it very hard for her to breath and the loss of all her physical abilities.
We the watchers and carers to feel helpless and sad... But it gets better, you have to wait for it but it does get better. 18 months on she can breath fine and the fasciculation is a thing of the past, although the pain in her arm still comes and goes.
