An infusion is a introduction of a solution into a vein over a period of time. Tysabri is dripped into the vein over about an hour. Other solutions, like steriod or chemo drips, are called infusions, as well. Generally, the difference between an injection and an infusion is the location and time period of the solution being introduced.
