Is bloodwork needed?

Post by Dawnsmspage »

When I was on Avonex I had to have blood tests every 6 months...however with the Copaxone my neuro hasnt sent me for any testing of any type. Is there any type of test that I should be getting while on this medication?
Thanks

No, none is required but I still go have bloodwork done once a year to make sure my liver is still functioning ok.

It's not usually recommended however I've read two cases on Braintalk forums of people who have had their immune system wiped out by C.

Dawn, I know of one person who claims to have had his immune system wiped out who posts over at braintalk, I must have missed the other one that Phirex is talking about.

I followed the story of the one I know of during the time he was getting infected. He had a very strange habit of injecting copaxone while sitting in a warm bath. He felt it reduced the site reactions.

As I remember the doctors blamed his problems on doing the injections while sitting in a puddle of his own filth. This is something he now fails to mention.

Best of luck, Peter
