Re: what happens when a left renal vein stent is dislodged

Sorry to have given the wrong width for my stent. I didn't mean to mislead anybody.

Re: what happens when a left renal vein stent is dislodged

1eye, I wish you all the best, and don't give up hope. dlynn, sorry if my post was confusing. The high altitude symptoms I mentioned only occurred some 6 years ago, prior to any treatment for CCSVI. This time at a much higher altitude, I didn't suffer serious ill effects, other than 4 manageable hea...

Re: what happens when a left renal vein stent is dislodged

The 14 x 20mm stent that was placed seems very small to me for a renal vein. I seem to recall that my renal stent is 20 x 60 mm, and IVUS was used. I remember asking Dr Sclafani at the time about the size and he said it that was normal for a renal vein. Perhaps he will weigh in on this discussion. M...

Re: GOLD STANDARD TOOLS used at only 5 Clinics?

Mark, I just received the following email from Ameds in Poland. They are now using IVUS and are checking the iliac and renal veins. Dear Patients and Friends! We are happy to inform that AMEDS Centrum physicians have started performing IVUS in the venous vessels in patients with CCSVI. After dr. Sca...

Re: Stent fears inhibit good care sometimes

Dr. Sclafani, this is indeed good news. I wish her all the best. Dlynn, yes the renal vein stent has helped me to walk better. (Like you, while my first procedure helped my gait and balance, my legs were still weak and heavy and the spasms had gotten worse) After getting the renal stent my balance a...

Re: Stent fears inhibit good care sometimes

Dr. Sclafani, I agree this is a sad situation, especially so because I was in to see you for my check up on Thursday and reported that I continue to enjoy benefits from the stenting of my renal vein in July 2011. On examination you noticed the good strength in my legs. If only the patient could have...

Re: This is facinating!!!!!

Trent, I agree with Robnl. I suggest you get an ultrasound of the leg veins to check to venous insufficiency. My ultrasound which was done after my second procedure showed CVI in both legs, in both the superficial and deep veins. I was advised to wear compression stockings and have done so everyday/...

Thanks Dr. Sclafani for your comment. Just so everyone knows, I have responded to Dr. S's earlier post and identified myself. As I told him, I continue to do very well.

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions

Dr. Sclafani, I am the patient who you treated for nutcracker syndrome but did no further treatment in July as my jugulars had remained open from the 1st treatment. Hooch is a friend of mine, and yes I did have a diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome for about 2 years (and was receiving long term di...

Re: What veins should be checked besides IJV and Azygos?

Thanks for the welcome! pklittle, yes, I did have an awkward MS gait before and post stent my friends and family tell me I walk normally, except when overtired. I walk without assistance but tend to avoid going for a walk alone at night, or when overtired. My husband has been my cane on many occasio...

Re: What veins should be checked besides IJV and Azygos?

In response to pklittle, I am the patient who during my 2nd angio on July 18, 2011 had a stent placed in my left renal vein by Dr. Sclafani to correct my nutcracker syndrome. I believe it's on pg. 366 of his thread (I see that Dr. S has just posted another case of nutcracker). Since my jugular veins...
