Specialty IV Providers usually have alot of resources we can pull from in order to get insurance companies to agree to this type of new therapy. Most people really don't want to hassle with their insurance due to the fact that most insurance companies really can wear on your nerves. We can do alot o...

First of all, their are companies doing this infusion at home RIGHT NOW, it is just up to you and your doctor(if he agrees to it) Also any infusion company that wants to leave any drug, let alone a drug that has to be infused within 8 hours after mixing, i would stay far,far away from. Alot of compa...

I totally agree, if your doctor wants you on this, make it happen!

Another option is to do this infusion at home after you have some
initial infusion at a hospital or clinic, if your doctor agrees it would
save people some money

I recently had a inservice with Lisa Pethen, a Senior Infusion Specialist at Elan and she stated that "infusion in the home care setting is not contraindicated" and "it is up to doctors discretion" so if you and your doctor and a local home health agency would agree you could do ...

I know this won't go over that well, as a provider we do strive to provid the best possible care for the least amount of money needed.........on that note, when you consider the costs involved in the infusion, the pay for staff, the supplies you need to give it and also to have on hand for reactions...

You have to find out if he's buying it for the 1,800 and marking it up
or buying it for less and making a huge profit.

If he isn't getting it from a provider that can get it cheaper, he may be paying a steep price for it

The FDA can come to a decision 6 months (in this case) from the time of filing, which makes the date somewhere around Thanksgiving (that would be something to be thankful for!!!!!!!!!!) I myself can't wait to be able to provide this drug to my community, i personally think this may be the best thing...

I think it may a little of both, being prepared is key to success, I don't think that they would spend that kindof money on new hires and all the training they are doing for nothing, I myself can't wait, this will be one of
the better drugs out there, so alot of people will benefit from this.

Approval of Antegren

As far as approval goes, i do think that this drug will be approved late November 2004 or early December 2004. I talk with the Biogen Rep from
time to time and things are sounding good.
