Supra-Pubic Catheter and Discrete Bag

My husband and neighbor have developed a way to hang a 4-liter bag from the back of my Permobil 300 wheelchair that is totally discrete. The tubing is also covered. This allows me to drink as many fluids as I want while at work without needing to empty the bag. Let me know if you need more info.

I got a Power Port

I had my 17th infusion on Friday, 2/1. It was my first since getting a power port placed (surgically) in my right chest. I must say, my infusion was able to start sooner since my infusion nurse could just access the port instead of searching for a vein in my arm or hand. Piece of Tysabri trivia. My ...

I just found out that my next door neighbor when I was a teenager (1972-1978) was diagnosed in 2000. I was diagnosed in 1997. We were neighbors in Denver, Colorado. I understand that Colorado has one of the highest rates of MS in the U.S. I had a bad case of mononucleosis in 1979. I think mono is th...

Evacuating Rita with MS

We left Houston at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday and finally arrived in Boerne, TX (about 200 miles) at 2:00 a.m. Friday morning. We had our family (my husband, me, and 2 teenagers) as well as our two cats in the van and we were pulling our 21-ft trailer behind. It was so hot on Thursday and we were going s...

I really appreciate reading the info on this website. You all seem to be very 'thinking" individuals and I appreciate your input. I had 2 doses of Tysabri and now will start betaseron as soon as it all gets approved. :)

:( It was the strangest sequence of events this morning...First I got a phone call confirming my 1:00 appt. for my Tysabri infusion this afternoon then 5 min. later I got a call canceling today's appt. because the drug was taken OFF the market! So at first I felt disappointed in that this new drug w...

I had my 2nd infusion today and so far I feel perkier than after the 1st. I think this is partly because it only took 1 stick to put the IV in compared with 6 tries last time (ouch). Also I proactively took 2 advil before I got the headache and that worked well. Plus I put all the prayer warriors I ...

I'm new to this site & forum, but I had my 1st Tysabri infusion on Dec. 28 and will have my next one in 2 days (Jan. 28). I've been dx'd since 1997 and am now secondary progressive/worsening RR. I've tried Copaxone, Rebif and 6 doses of Novantrone with little slowing of the progression EXCEPT on...
