Re: Weakness in right arm but muscles are hard

I have weakness in my left leg and left arm, but my leg is worse, with pain in my right arm, hand and right side of my face including my right cheek and right eye. I do a lot of exercise and it doesn't seem to help much. I have lost about 10% of the muscle mass in my left leg according to testing I ...

Re: Can the JC virus be killed before PML

Hi Vesta, good question. My doctor doesn't think the Copaxone is helping me at this point.

Re: Can the JC virus be killed before PML

I have been doing some research about PML and found this very informative article titled "Everything You Should Know About Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML) Virus" Here is a link: https://www.healthline.com/health/plm-virus According to this article (and other similar ones I have read...

Re: Can the JC virus be killed before PML

Are you taking a DMD now?

What do you think you are going to do at this point?

Re: Can the JC virus be killed before PML

My neurologist wants me to change medications and switch from Copaxone to Ocrevis. Although no cases of PML have been directly linked to Ocrevis, they do warn about PML in their literature as other drugs that function in a similar manner in 'controlling' MS progression have, so I am not sure what to...

Florida Key West MS Cluster

From 2014, the rate of multiple sclerosis in Key West is ''as high as anywhere in North America,'' according to a leading Government expert in the disease. A study by a University of Miami scientist found 23 cases of multiple sclerosis among the 30,000 longtime residents of this island resort. The G...

Re: Latitude

NHE, good point and yet researchers doing latitude studies always seem to ignore this info and all the readily available relevant facts that may easily contradict the purpose of their study.

Re: Latitude

As is always the case in studies like this, there were likely no Eskimos or Inuits included. I wonder why people who live at the most northern latitudes and have ZERO incidence of MS are never included in these type of studies! Oh well...

Re: Can the JC virus be killed before PML

Likely not, otherwise that info would be readily available, wouldn't it? What does your doctor say? But frankly, it does not make sense to take a drug that can possibly trigger it when there are many other DMDs that do not. My neurologist wants me to change medications and I told him I will not cons...

Re: Beet root juice/powder

I have been taking pure beet powder daily for several years. And even though I don't know if it alone is helping me, I plan to keep taking it. BEWARE of companies offering SUPER BEET products, as most are NOT 100% beets, they have sweeteners added and possibly other ingredients as well. And the post...

Re: Passive Exercise Machines Make A LOT of Sense...

I have the one on the left (paid $110), and regardless of the price (typically range for new units are from $110 to over $400, they are available used from around $40), the all do pretty much the same thing. IMHO, the adjustable speed control is not necessary as suggested in this and other videos as...

Re: Experimental Tongue Therapy Helps Restore Brain Function

"For MSers, Parkinson, and other autoimune diseases, that means 5K for life... This is not an option (we are not celebrities like Montel Williams!)" There are other more affordable options for devices that basically do the same thing as he PoNS as I have mentioned before. I have personal experience...

Re: Passive Exercise Machines Make Sense...

Just found this one which is a more advanced elliptical style machine with much more range of motion, especially in the ankles, but would NOT be good for someone with a lot of stiffness and swelling. BUT if you get some improvement with the LegXercise machine and Chi machine, you would likely want t...

Re: Experimental Tongue Therapy Helps Restore Brain Function

Sorry to hear it did not work for you but glad to hear some are being helped. i have tried numerous treatments and in general I have had the same experience that you had with this one, where I thought the treatment I was doing at the time was working at first and then realized after a reasonable per...
